Nostalgic pic…A Bernard from the Hauts de France region (59) so could possibly be at the port of Dunkirk.

Sheer speculation, looks like a passenger liner, so loading ready for a cruise …H&S would have a fit today, still, bet no one died of food poisoning on that trip…

Far left, one can see half of a Somua truck.

Collection of old pics…

Hopefully Froggy will be along to give the info on them.

A few more oldies.

With the Frejus tunnel being closed for the time being, I was looking at going over the Mont Cenis, it wouldn’t have made a difference though as the road is blocked at Modane. So I opted for the Mont Blanc.

These might jog your memory a bit Senior

Good Afternoon Dave,
Hope Liz and yourself are all ok? I have not been able or had the time to access TN for a while so apologies for not keeping in touch.

One thing i have noticed though is the cheek of that Whippersnapper!!

Whipps…certainly does stir the old grey matter, I’ve put simular pics on here some time ago…once over the Cenis with a 15 mt Tilt, never forgotten , didn’t do the under-run bars much good either

Hi Pierre…how’s it going "up norf " these days…hope your’e both well…we must make contact soon eh ?

As for that Whippersnapper, I’ve got him marked mate, still got plenty of those negative photos of him in various compromising positions with our neighbours sheep…and his bed wetting episodes to boot… I’ve got the lovely Ks telephone number and email address, so if he overstep the mark…he’s toast…

No respect for senior colleagues these days… But, sounds like Fergie has all eventualities covered.

Well, what about some respect for the younger colleagues Herr Sutherland…?

It’s alright though, as I got some footage of Senior doing the “Breton tango” with the donkey from next door… not sure if I should make that public…

Besides that, Mrs. Fergie told me once that sometimes she thinks she’s sleeping on a waterbed, but they never had one… I’ll let you do the math

A question for Froggy and Michel, did this Hynovis concept actually made it to production status?

The Spanish truck industry was quite interesting back in the day, with a lot of models that are a bit un-known to most people I’d imagine.

Here’s a brochure I’ve found of a Nazar, powered by a Perkins engine.

Due to the problems on the Forum, I’ve just discovered you pictures now. 1 Bernard; 2 OM Titano; 6 Fiat; 7 Lancia

That second pic of the v.d. Luyt rigid stirred the old grey matter a bit Senior, I haven’t seen them on the road for a while now, so I did some “investigating”, turns out there now part of De Wit from Hillegom.
I remember passing their yard just off the A44 going towards The Hague, they specialised in transporting fresh flowers to the UK and Switzerland, they never had a flashy looking fleet, but it was always kept tidy.

I found some more footage of the fleet that they had back in the day; nl.pinterest.com/gerritvanderpl … egstgeest/

Excellent link there Monsieur Patrick. A well kept fleet indeed. Thanks.

Are you referring to the lovely Monik as a donkey Whippersnapper…if so there’s a package of incriminating evidence here ready to send to a lovely lady in Hungary with negatives of you in it…it’ll make Russel Brand look like an angel. :smiling_imp:
