Hi Chris, hope you’re well ? I’ll sort a few more out and post when I can…Mrs F has me decorating, nothing major, just paint the house, re-tile the roof, fit a conservatory, put in a swimming pool, just little jobs…and then there’s landscaping the garden… after that she says I can post some pics !!!
Fine Dave
Next year will do, don’t work to hard !!

Both the Willèmes and the Renault 10 (though british reg’) are French, but we’re definitely in Britain!

I’d say Magirus-Deutz or Büssing, but the sloping roof looks unusual.

That’s an Inter-Drain Paul, they’re made in Tiel, Holland. Been there a couple of times to load machines for France. Older machines were powered by a Scania V8, the newer ones have Mercedes engines IIRC.

I posted this pic before, either on here or on the heavy haulage thread. It’s an older wagon from Dabekausen who were based in the South of Holland. In the early 90s they became part of the v.d. Vlist group, but their operation was shut down shortly after the financial crisis. Bit of a pity, as they had a long history regarding heavy haulage in Holland, what’s more, they were one of the pioneers in the game, especially in the South East of Holland.
I think it was identified as a Magirus with a converted roof, to load crane booms over the roof and stay within the 4m height limit.

A huge hump for a huge and very greedy engine, hardly a mile to a gallon of petrol when loaded for the 17-litre Hall Scott 440!

Hi Chris…i think that Antar gave enough trouble without adding a Pacific to the fleet …if I remeber even with the
Rover V8 diesel in it, it was around 1 mile to a gallon fully freighted…unimaginable fuel consummation today …
I went with Bill Miles and Graham Richardson as second mate in it to pick up a tank from Cardiff to Andover, I think i was 16 at the time and my first week away on a wagon., it use to use a hell of a lot of engine oil as well as diesel…funny what you remembere over 60 years ago

What a horrible wagon that was, last I saw of that it was chopped up in Hardwicks yard in Ewell
