Pubquiz question, what is it?

Chevrolet, for long loads: pipes, steel or timber probably.

Met up with the Whippersnapper yesterday, after showing him how to load and secure it properly, we went and had some supper…good job us oldies are around to show the children how to do it. :unamused:

Thanks for that Froggy.
It’s some machine when you get up close and personal. Talking to the owner I couldn’t believe how much it cost new, and 13 years on its still a valuable piece of equipment, this one looked in pretty good condition for its age but I didn’t know the working hours… The trailer Patrick has is very versatile with rear steer as well, compared to the heavy knock off rear end or swan necks we had in the 60s and 70s, but the lad still has to work hard to load that beast…

Nearly 550hp these engines produce, that’s more than the DAF coughs up!

Pubquiz question, what is it?

Definately a Chrevrolet but the coach- or bodymaker had the seven bars from DAF in mind.

This chassis went further with registration SJ-85-23 and the picture is from around 1961.

Pubquiz question, what is it?

It seems te bear the Chevrolet logo.

I scribbled down the info somewhere, but I can’t find it now, I think it had a 6 or possibly 8 cylinder petrol engine as well.

michel:
Seems the Zagerman Berliet was a GPRK 10 modified as a tractor unit because the wheelbase is longer than a TRK.
Here one in Belgium.

Cheers Michel. If I understand it correctly, the GPRK chassis were rigids then? And TRK tractor unit chassis?

Last year after passing the yard of Transport Lohéac for the umpteenth time, I finally caught a glimpse of the “ton ton camions”!

I thought they had all been sold in one batch to Africa!

My thoughts exactly Paul, as I’ve never seen one at classic vehicle rallies. Nice to see that they do care about their heritage.

Indeed! I wish we could do the same here in France!

And now, a cab run in a Lancia Esagamma. What a lovely sound! Just a pity I do not understand italian, and thus miss the comments!
