Merry Xmas chaps and chapesses! If you’re wondering why I’m infesting the forum at Christmas breakfast time it’s 'cos I’m holed up with a chest infection  . Oh well: tough! Time for some lorry-■■■■ then!

Thanks and get well soon.

Hi ERF, I rather like this Saviem picture and the Breton piper image on the Trailer. This artic is from " Fergie 47 " area in Bretagne/Brittany.
Meanwhile, Hurry up and get better soon, Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel, & Feliz Navidad. Ray Smyth.

Willème-badged BMC FG!? Seems odd when the French had loads of home-grown lightweight wagons…

Initially an arm manufacturer, Hotchkiss produced light (under 10 ton gross weight) trucks until 1970. They were at a stage the importer for Leyland trucks in France, adding their own badge to Leyland’s.

Here are two more Hotchkiss trucks. The first was quite common when I was a child.

Leyland-Hotchkiss Hippo 200 bhp tipper. One can see the Hotchkiss badge above the top grille.

I hadn’t noticed that! Probably just for the picture, because two mirrors were certainly compulsory in the early sixties, with a minimum size.

I always loved them, with their unique look!

Yes. They were ubiquitous until the EU paid Spain to scrap them! Here’s one I snapped in Pamplona during the great truck replacement drive in the '90s.

Seeing this photo reminded me of this beautifully restored Willeme at the Locomotive and truck show (2019) in Melun, south east of Paris.

At the risk of being called a philistine, I think it’s one of the ugliest motors I’ve ever seen.

The green Boule looks superb, but I think I prefer the Transports Vaillant Saviem tractor, a few posts further up. Does anyone know which coachbuilder is responsible for that cab?

Just as for the Pegaso, I’ll say it has an unique design.
