Now, here’s a 1975 picture showing a Bernard TD 150 with a 0.60 m gauge steam loco in Pithiviers (France). I think it comes from a railway website, but not sure.

I watched this team ploughing for a while, it was fascinating!! The skill of the driver! he had the horses walking backwards
as he lined them up for the next furrow. This is the first time I’ve seen this, although Im sure the “sons of the soil” will
not be suprised by this.210
Ploughing an acre could mean covering a distance of up to 9 miles depending on depth and width of furrow, I exhibit at a couple of ploughing matches and love watching the nags trundle up and down the field.

Let me stir up a bit of controversy-
Regarding the two rearmost vehicles in Fergie’s photo no. 1: are they pulling or pushing?
It’s not like you to stir things up ROF!!! Regards Kev.
Of course not! Just waiting for Professor Leatherhead to put us all right.
Hells bells ROF, leave him where he is, boring the life out of the “EU OUT” thread. Last time I counted he had forty four contributions on there. Regards Kev.
He’s just getting into his stride, Kev. You just wait until Smiling Dave lets him have his referendum!
And as for you, H, I’m disappointed that you should even consider that the vehicles were not moving. I can’t see any Pickfords or BRS logos on them so they won’t have stopped for an hour or two’s kip.
The old trucks shown on here certainly had charachter unlike all of the modern stuff today.
Some of them look fantastic with the unusual cab shapes, keep them coming !

That is an usuall set up as the two front trators are linked pulling and the rear two are linked from the rear tow hitch pushing which would not seem to have as much force as if they were connected from the front towing hitch ( if they have one ,as that would explain the set up )

Slow doesn’t always mean sure, even the big boys get it wrong sometimes.
Fergie it could be that the road as given way but it is hard to say looking at the angle at which the Pacific is but what is certain there is a lot of hard graft to retrive the situation which they are in

Hi, Johnnie, Surely the two rearmost tractors are pulling from the rear tow hitch?
