Satelite radio?

Why do people bother with that crap ? I used a truck for two day last summer that had a set fitted, it had BBC radio 1 which was quite nice but the signal vanished evry time the clouds got thick.
Why pay for radio ? Radio is free FFS, I wouldn’t pay for that if it was a penny a month and I can’t see why others do. We have high def / digital now with hundreds of extra channels and it’s free.

When you have not had Redio 1 in your cab for 12 years it’s good, believe me

I have an old xm set in mine, it doesnt get all the channels but most of them, and costs nothing.

Yours must have had aeriel probs because they dont normally drop out at all, well except for around Quebec.

I suppose I use it about half the time, the other half is mostly books on the Ipod. I like being able to listen to F1, and the football on the world service and there are a lot of good music channels on there, although I get angry at the limited playlists.

I dont think I would pay for it at 15$ a month, but if I couldnt move this radio to another truck I would buy a new one, saw one at Iowa 80 it was only about 100$ and its worth that I reckon.

I have Sirius and I’m a big fan, I have a few regular programmes I listen to, the best of them being Sports 92 which has Premiership Football, the Alan Brazil Breakfast Show and Drivetime with Durham. Other than that there is a channel that plays whatever kind of music I’m in the mood for, anything from Sinatra, Elvis, a bit of classic rock, disco, Motown or some banging house. There’s also the Trucking Channel which can be entertaining or informative, depending on the show and all the news stations and talk radio shows.

Pat, you say that you would never pay for it, well I would, luckily I don’t have to though, mine is paid for by the firm :sunglasses:

You Lucky, Lucky Bas***d as Monty Python would say.
My old company (St Annes) has put it in all their trucks as well.
The idea of following F1 does appeal to me but I do actually have it on my lap top via speed channel, I also have HBO on the go.

I had to use all my charm to get it Pat  My subscription was up for renewal and you can only do it by credit card, to start it I had got a pre paid card as I have no use for a credit card from the bank, I was heading out and didn’t have time to ponce around getting a new card so I asked the boss to put it on a company card and dock it out of my wages, they never did and when I asked I was told not to worry about it, 3yrs on and they have renewed it for me twice more :sunglasses:

I have sirius, pay for it myself and wouldn’t be without it. Pat you don’t travel far enough to keep losing chanels
Oh and of course at this time of year it’s worth remembering that the cost is tax deductable
