Does any one know how to update a sat nav.?
Depends on what make.
Tomtoms with life time updates go to Tomtom website, likewise with Garmin.
Cheap Chinese type off eBay, go to “Igo.com”
the latest tomtom truck sat navs update through the wi-fi in your house , no need for a computer
If you are referring to the cheapo EBay ones like the XGody then it isn’t straight-forward, which is why I gave up on it. You used to get directed to a site called naviextras.com where you could download the data file for free but the XGody stopped appearing in the list and the site also started charging. Even when the data files were downloaded it was a bit of a pain getting them to work.
All retail satnavs can be updated fairly easily from software installed on a PC/laptop (I’m not rich enough to have one of these new fangled Wi-Fi ones).
DAF factory fitted SatNav in my truck needs an update. In spite of being on full R & M they’re asking for about 120 quid as it’s not a DAF manufactured part ! If it was anyone else it’d be unbelievable.

£120 sounds like a bargain, especially for commercial HGV use. That usually commands a bigger premium.
Audi charges around £500 for a map update for cars…
