Don’t think many will worry about their local council ‘doing well’ at anything IMO.

Yeah I know. But at least here the salt was being used sensibly.And now its to be diverted elsewhere. :open_mouth:

I work for Jewsons my truck was bewing mot’ed this week so I was in the office for a few days the local council phoned up asking if we had any salt/grit I gave them the number of our sup-plier who wont give us any and wont give them any either !!!

If you did have any, which you havent :confused: - how much would you charge for a bulk bag ?
Picked a load up from a bagging plant on Fri, delivered a couple on the way home and i couldnt believe how much they were charging for a bag of salt- £196.00 ffs

Why don’t the council’s use chippings on top of the snow on minor roads,after ploughing the snow off,thats what they used on all the roads in 1963,it gives you some bite and traction,they hadn’t started using salt then.

Or coal dust like they do/did in Russia. Its how the high level spots came about dont you know!
Coz the low lights got dirty… :wink:

Our local council spent the day gritting the roads in and around the town, 30 minutes after the job was done the road sweepers came round and swept it all up :unamused:
