Easiest way is M25, M11, A406, A13, Blackwall Tunnel, take a left after the tunnel, right at the next RA, straight over the next one and you will see them on your left.

This route is all dependent on traffic, if you are going to hit the 0600-0930 rush hour it is rubbish all the way from J4 on the M11 until you clear the Blackwall tunnel.

As to it being a good tip, I can’t help you.

Will I fit through tunnel mate

15’6" southbound, it is northbound that you can’t get in 13’.0"

Don’t underestimate the traffic from the bottom of the M11 at rush hour, what you time you booked in?

Don’t forget the emission zone either, starts on the 406 (as soon as you pass the A12)

Blackwall tunnel…

Then come off as soon as you exit the tunnel, don’t go up to the O2 stadium, at the roundabout, take Bugsby’s Way over the first roundabout, then it’s second left into Lombard Wall. It’s a doddle check it out on Google maps.

Tipping times? Anyone’s guess. Last time I did it, they held me up for 5 hours. I couldn’t get back to the yard in Leeds. Ran outta time in the lay-by 50 yards from my house. Had my 9 off and then scored 8 hours Sunday rate for driving it one hour back to the yard. (the good old days)

You might be in and out like a bookies runner.

It’s a long time since I was there and iirc it’s a bit of a dump. You should see it as you exit the tunnel. As stated take the 1st exit etc. Depending on chilled/ambient pull in the truck park and walk up the ramp to the office/warehouse. The yard up the ramp to get on the bays is a little tight if busy.
At 14’6" I used to go south through the blackwall and north via dartford Xing. Dunno if Dozy’s famous “Woolworths” ferry would be quicker northbound

That place is brand new, they demolished the old one and put a brand new one up.

As said go through Blackwall Tunnel, last time I was there was in and out and shake it all about in 1hr 30m.

Came back over the river on the ferry…

Perfect, M11/406/a13 Blackwall on the way down, Woolwich ferry (free) or Dartford crossing (toll) on the way back.

Not been down there after ferry is it easy route back

You’ll need your passport…

Duty free lounge is a bit hit and miss though.

Ferry is easy, come out of Sainsbury’s take a left follow the road to the right (via a RA) take a left on Woolwich road (A206) and follow signs to the ferry. When you get to the ferry join the queue or if it is busy they will direct you to the over flow parking on the left.

Never takes long to cross. Once you get across follow the road off the ferry, bend left and take the first right A112, Albert road (just follow the traffic) you cross one of the old east end docks over a small bridge with white apartments on your left, you then come to a big RA, take the fourth exit (signposted N Circular), at the next RA straight across and you are back on the A406 (right where it junctions with the a13 Beckton roundabout, then pick up the M11 (N) and back to the M25

Brilliant thanks

The ferry is a nice and easy way to get out of London, always quiet, especially midday and it cuts the whole malarkey with the Dartford crossing out which can be very congested on a Friday afternoon.

The ferry does get busy if the Blackwall is shut or the Dartford is backed up for miles.

If you don’t make it out by about 1215, use the Dartford tunnel. The lbts routes come into force at 1300 and if you aren’t back at the Porsche garage in Becton by then, you risk a fine. Alternatively, go to the boat, but if it’s a one boat service and a queue, sack it off or you might cost yourself a weeks wages

You know what, I only just realised it is bloomin Friday, you are right. You can ignore my posts on the bloomin traffic too then.

Don’t know why I was thinking it was Thursday…

Ojay is spot on, use the Dartford tunnel if you can’t get to the ferry for 1300.

Time for a beer me thinks.

Cheers guys
