Safe Parking In Lisboa

Off to Lisbon on Saturday for a collection of Monday Morning, can anyone recommend somewhere either in Lisbon or on the way, to park, I will be arriving sunday afternoon. I’m driving a 3.5t van before anyone says anything about getting to portugal so quickly.

Glen…Don’t park on the toll roads overnight, you will get charged double at the next booth. There are plenty of services en route. Just be careful which you choose. :sunglasses:

Last time I went (10 years ago) I had tipped in Madrid first and stopped at Badajoz on/near the border. There was a very good restaraunt there.

if you get on any national road between Santarem and Lisbon you will find loads of restaurants, services, etc etc!My advice is to park about one hour from Lisbon, and start early morning on Monday, rush hour usually starts after 9am.

I would have parked along the Cascais/Estoril coast line,if you go further to Playa de Guincho, playa is a beach, there is the surfers beach, loads of restaurants, some are hidden away in the small villages behind the sand dunes.
From Cascais town you can get cheap bus/train to Lisbon centre, there is the Expo site which has many places to eat,a aquarium is there too.

Caparica is on the south side of the big bridge,it is ok there, beach bars,or Setubal, ferry to Lisbon for the commuters.

if you want to park in town, i have some friends that run a bikers bar. good lads and your van will be safe!

He left already and won’t be back for at least 2 weeks. I spoke to him pivately on Friday.

:grimacing:

Centre is ok,but if curtains are fitted i would close them,i used to leave a small pocket radio on while away from the cab, never knew if some casual thief was around. At night,i left a small cab light as well.
