I spent 14 yrs and never once got paid to
Run in , just the hours I did , be it 1 hr , 30 mins
Last week 5.30 - 8.00 , 2 1/2 hrs , change to agency
And first time I run in ( not happy ) get paid
9 hrs x 16 ph = £144 , £57 ph
I’ve changed my mind it’s just part of the job !!
I have always got paid for running in with the exception of one small haulier who tried it on. They decided to not pay me, they found their lorry dumped on the docks with the keys in.
Where I’m at now we get a minimum 4hrs for running in on a Saturday. Don’t know and haven’t seen anyone taking the mick and parking close, usually you run out of time on the Friday between and hour and three hours away.
All the time I was working I never had a job that did not guarantee 4 hrs for running in.
Did three years Agency more often than not got 8 hrs as that`s what Companies got charged minimum for Saturdays turning a wheel or not
