i sometimes drive forks for a company that gets everything in tin boxes and i can tip a 45ft box in roughly 25 minutes (no messing about - a bloke said that he was getting sea sick by the time i finished - the only time i braked was to pick up pallet in box and put pallet down on floor rest of the time my foot was flat on the floor) — this is way it should be there’s just some really lazy sods about that take an hour tod same job…this was at wsb chemicals in widnes…

When i first did class 1 tramping, I was at an RDC talking to a driver about my next delivery, I said I going to morrisons at Wakefield, he said, “you’ll be fine in and out no time, last time a was there it took me 20 minutes in and out”. as I was leaving I noticed a wee smile from the driver and thought could he be having me on.

Well got there and low and be hold 4 hours later :imp: I left the said morrisons and thought what a nice guy :imp: , If I see him again I have something to say,well would you believe it, saw the aforementioned driver next day, he saw me and I sat down and said “cheers mate for the info was in and out in 20 minutes just like you said, there was a very nice bunch of lads down there”, I told them what you said and there said “yes mate we good here” the look on his face was priceless. :wink:

i once waited 6 hours there,told fork truck driver to give me a bang on door when ready,night heater on and on the bunk for a kip,isotrack was’nt working right (no incomming calls they where allways playing up),stobarts werent impressed when i got back,sod em,place is full of back stabbers

I also used to work with a young Polish lad who could drive his 330i back to Poland in just over two hours.

My grandad used to do Germany and back in a night
He was a Lancaster pilot.

All wagon drivers know the local gangster who can have anyone the driver wants shot.
Al drivers know everyone elses business this way they can talk loudly about whose going bust next week.

The video has been doing the rounds for ages it was on here about 5 minutes after she was on T.V.
She was also in the Sunday Sport

talking to a driver once apart from the SAS, free enterprise and his best mates a hit man!! he said he used to run saudi from aberdeen every 2 week and had taken the passenger seat out and had a shower installed!!! :smiley: :smiley: :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

and there’s me in my 2989 actros doing 120 down the german autobahn and i believed him !!! :wink: :wink: :unamused:

Don’t know about Rugby, but they have definitely bought Carlisle truck stop. Was talking to the staff in there and they are wondering if their pay will change, or if they can expect to see any filming.

Was in a Stobby canteen a while back two sets of prices one for Stobbies and another for the rest of us.
Wasn’t worth eating there the prices they charged (about an extra 70p for a sausage IIRC)
Gave my cash to Ronald Macdonald kinda gave it to one clown instead of another…

Thought I’d have a nice meal but changed my mind when I saw the prices.

you might of heard the shower story just like I have on many occasions but 1 of my mates phoned me a while ago and told me that 1 of our subbies had a shower fitted into his daf cf and I told him thats such an old story that its actually ■■■■■■■■.
fast forward 2 weeks and I seen said subbie in yard and lo and behold he had actually fitted a shower into the passenger side and water proofed the dash. :laughing:

Whilst in the rather degrading waiting room at Tesco Goole yesterday I met another one of those drivers that’s had 2bays either side and 10feet in front of his truck coned off as he ran out of time in an RDC somewhere! Was quite embarrassing listening to his story tbh!
