RT Keedwell pay structure

£15 for driving and £12 for other work

Bit bizarre? Are drivers now funding waiting times at RDCs etc?

This mimics…

The Willi Betz pay model.

Loaded driven hours; 50 Roubles per day.

Empty driven hours; 25 Roubles per day.

Downtime at customers waiting for the product to be manufactured, loaded and cleared for customs; 0 Roubles per day.

I reckon were going to see more & more of this ■■■■■■■■ unfortunately.

Vote with your feet as they say :smiling_imp:

Imagine the driver rivalry and grudges that would entail.

Driver 1 get a Glasgow night trunk with a trailer swap, and driver 2 gets 3 local-ish RDC drops with 2-hour tips at each one.

Unfortunately, the more firms that do this, the more other firms will need to compete, and will follow suit. This will probably be a new normal, especially in the face of a recession. Sad times.

Don’t care if I offend anyone but if you accept those terms you’re a prick

I don’t see the problem with the principal of it, just the rates. So £20 ph for driving and £17 ph on break would keep me happy.

That is the point of it though isn’t it? divide & rule. All the time the drivers are squabbling among themselved they aren’t …

Benefits…

“Workplace pension”

Which is a mandatory legal requirement for every employer :unamused: I’m surprised they don’t say “All employees are allowed to come in on their days off to wash the truck”

Oh… and of course they should not be quoting “night out” money as a benefit either.
It’s about time Advertising Standards looked at haulage job adverts

The sad reality is they probably won’t struggle to get driver’s working for them and accepting that pay structure.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s like when they mention a car park as an employee benefit.

Agree! Lorry drivers are the thickest bunch of worforce going. There is always some clown taking a crap paying job whilst saying “A job is a job and I need an income!” Well if this pay structure becomes a standard way of paying the drivers then I simply move onto another career not swallow the BS. Too many idiots in this game willing to acept crap as they are to lazy to do anything else!

You beat me to it. How bad must a job be if they have to sweeten the deal by allowing you to park on their large free car parks.

Unless you work in a congested city with blanket paid parking in the surrounding streets you should not be advertising free parking :open_mouth:

Some other classics include …

Free PPE (Mandatory)
Free Uniform
Cycle To Work scheme

Hardly gonna set your bank manager’s pulse racing when you’re trying for a mortgage are they
