Route advice Okehampton to South Molton

What is the best route in an artic from Okehampton to South Molton please. Not sure google maps choice is viable

Not going to Norbord are you?

I’d head up to Barnstaple then along the A361.

Will you be empty or loaded?
I use those back roads all the time, but I’m used to them.
Okehampton A3072 to Copplestone.
A377 n/b to Umbrerleigh. right B3227 to South Molton.
There is a weight limit at S.M., so turn left at signs, (I think it’s unclassified road going to Filleigh village) this road goes right past Norboard on lhs… up to T junction, turn right, and then next t junction left for Pathfields ind est …Or if going to A361 …left, past honey farm on rhs and up to roundabout on A361.
Otherwise as said longer route is via Bideford/Barnstaple on A386.

Just check these routes on a map first mate whatever you do :bulb: as all this is off top of my head,.I dont want you blaming me for sending you up wrong road…
Hope that helps.

Will be half loaded and not too heavy. Will try that route to Copplestone on 3072 then up to Umberleigh. I know the 3072 as i go to a farm on there just past Bow at Clannaborough.
Cheers Rob

I’ve done it in 44t fully loaded milk tanker, I turn right at Winkleigh and go via Eggesford and come out at the railway station, then the B3226. There’s a good hill on the section before the station, but you’ll be going down it! I’ve done it the other way fully loaded too with no problems

This is a handy cut through, done it many times in an attic but did have rear steer trailer.
It’s single track for the first bit, but very easy

I turned off the a337 just before Underleigh and followed the a3226 into South Molton, cheers
