Roundabout signage

Has anyone noticed how road signs are being taken down from roundabout exits. What’s that all about ?..At best it’s bleedin annoying at worse a nightmare on roundabouts with silly layouts involving umpteen needless different lanes with no confirmation of the correct exit.

I hate roundabouts where they’ve been putting up them stupid green stand up plastic looking things you know .the things there trying to make a wall/ barrier so you can’t see approaching traffic on the roundabout forcing you to basically stop.
Then wait for a huge gap.

That’s another problem to add to having to guess, is this my exact bleedin exit off this stupid multi lane lash up or not.
They tell the Americans that roundabouts are supposedly superior to all ways stop intersections then they turn roundabouts into what are effectively …all ways stop intersections.Often with the even more dangerous situation that truck drivers can see over the screens or bushes but car drivers can’t with predictable results.
Roundabouts can only work safely with decent vision on entry and over them and two lanes on entry and through the roundabout with the rule left lane up to 12 o clock and right lane after 12 o clock to .But there’s no way of even knowing the exit positions without the proper signage to confirm entry and. exit points.
Also change the rule to priority on entry or better merge in turn just like the lane closure rule.It helps having truck driving experience in that regard with the knowledge of how difficult it is to get an artic across a roundabout from stationary which effectively means priority on entry or merge in turn anyway…
But as it stands many junctions would be far better turned from roundabouts into all ways stop intersections and remove the stupid situation of major roads having to give way to numerous minor road junctions with unnecessary roundabouts.

I think it’s ■■■■■■ nicking them. It’s the same with some of the road signs for junctions, you’ll see some random strip of it that they couldn’t unbolt quickly left behind. A bit like this on the A66…

I think that’s for when the jerrys invade so they don’t know where to go

At least the alleged sign thieves obviously thoughtfully replaced the nicked A1 London sign with a diverted traffic sign here including a stand worth more than the sign.Who cares where it’s being diverted from or to or via.

They’re not a problem in an HGV because you can see over them. The problem is when they plant hedges that they let grow to full height.

The problem is when an HGV driver can see a clear roundabout ahead but the car driver in front can’t.The obvious ‘solution’ from the irrational road planners is to then also block the vision of the HGV driver. In all cases totally defeating the object of a roundabout controlled junction.
I’d guess that there is some sort of politically driven muppetry behind the exit direction signs removal.
