Nearest I could find to Mikes trailer ! I just bet that when the Ponsonsby driver pulled his sheets off in Soho at his drop he would have a right battle to wrap them up proper like :unamused: Probably did as I would have done, just ā€œhappedā€ them up roped them on then do them properly somewhere he could spread them out.As long as he didnā€™t turn up back at the yard with them in a state eh!Cheers Dennis.

sorry about that jackdaw i will make him do 500 lines must try harder

To be fair it is a good job, and looks well. :sunglasses:

Now then Jackdaw i have had a word with Mr Ponsonby and here is the result,i hope it meets with your approval

11/10 for that effort,if I didnā€™t know different Iā€™d could swear that a Bewick shunter had sheeted and roped that Ponsonby trailer ! :open_mouth:   I wonder how many of to-days ā€œcurtain pullersā€ could ā€œturnā€ a flat out like that  and I bet judging by the quality of the work it hadnā€™t taken the Ponsonby lad too long to do the job so he wouldnā€™t have been that far behind,he would have caught the ā€œcurtain pullerā€ up at the next cafe !! No danger ! Cheers Dennis.

My thoughts also Bewick, A perfect example of what the old drivers were taught to doe, Regards Larry.

Aye Larry it brings tears to the eyes now when you see a fine sheeting and roping job, thereā€™s probably 42 years between this shot of the Bewick trailer and the Ponsonby trailer.Modesty prevents me from divulging who sheeted this 34ft trailer  these poly covered main sheets wernā€™t a success and were only a trial,Iā€™d bought them for about half price only used a couple of times by an owner driver from Milnthorpe whoā€™s main traffic was Cape boards from Uxbridge to Scotland and Marionite south from Glasgow to London.

Hiya,
Once did a dayshift changeover at Hull BRS depot from Consett BRS depot,
dropped a loaded trailer picked up a loaded trailer, the trailer I picked up
was adorned with a brand new flysheet a bright fluorescent orange thing I
only got out of Hull and at the first layby put my own green flysheet which
I always carried on the back of the unit the bleedinā€™ orange thing was so
bright it was affecting my eyes from itā€™s reflection in the mirror.
thanks harry, long retired.
