I have been around a while

Are the words “Too” and “Long” missing :unamused:

Is he friend of yours Dennis

Joined in June 2010 24th actually at 2220 hrs! Just stumbled across the site looking for something or other , and boy am I glad I did. :stuck_out_tongue:
One of the 1 st places I visit in the evenings, and whilst I don’t post much I certainly enjoy the craic n banter that goes on, and the ever mystical Gardner 8 LXB in The Guy BigJ KEEPS THE MYSTERY AND SUSPENSE GOING!!

 :unamused: :open_mouth:

I must admit that I don’t look in as often as I used to but that’s not to say that the threads are not as interesting as they were nearly ten years ago.
Foden 46, R.I.P. told me to have a look at this site and then it was a case of logging on while I was having my breakfast, checking to see if there were any new posts as soon as I got home from work and then after tea, if I wasn’t going out, I would spend hours looking at most of the posts that I had already missed from previous years.
Some of the photos and stories that have been shared over the years along with all the Mods and the tech staff make this site the success it is but it’s up to all of us to keep adding stuff. If nobody answers your question then don’t give up because you never know when somebody sees your post and think “I remember that”.

Regards Steve.

Only been around since 2011. Joined whilst living in NYC then moved back to the UK then back to the USA now living in Switzerland. Can’t seem to stop moving. A few on here knew my late father when I joined, some even remembered me (not many) but I still look in about once a day.
The only thing I regret is the number of photos that I have lost from the past.

I checked with the DNA Service Pete to try and establish if we were related and do you know what the Geezer said ! " Do me a favour Mr. Smith you and your name sakes are all ■■■■■■■ descended from the same knuckle dragging Neanderthal that climbed over Hadrians Wall and ■■■■■■ a Pig so it is pointless keeping any DNA info ! Uncle Dennis  :unamused:

Hi Dennis, I wonder if I am related to all you Smith gadgees, My surname is spelled with a Y instead of an I.
Its origins are in Co.Antrim and Co.Down, on my fathers side,a couple of generations back, where it is
pronounced as Smith. If it was spelled “Smythe”,it would be very English Aristocratic, and I would speak
reet posh and gradely, just like most folk in Wigan. Kind Regards, Ray Smyth.

Ray,
You are a “posh” Smith mate, you have the Y means that your relation never climbed over Hadrians Wall and did unmentionables to a pig as our Uncle Dennis mentioned!

Pete,
Yes, we were not particularly fond of pigs, but we did like a shoulder of lamb.
PS. I have sent you an email via Trucknet. Kind Regards, Ray Smyth.

This all came as a shock I must admit, they didn’t even came up with such a plot in Coronation Street for ■■■■■ sake…

Next thing you know, I’m related to Fergie… now there’s a bombshell for ya…

I do believe it may be time to change my name by Deed Poll to Bewick before there is a deluge of begging letters and paternity claims   Plus there is no way you are going to get me onto the Jeremy Kyle show !      Cheers Dennis.

You never know Dennis, Carryfast’s father might have owned a bike and pedalled his way up to ■■■■■■■ 60+ years ago. You do seem very much alike in your ways…

Pete.
