Michael ‘Beef’ Park, was the co-driver who was killed on this years Rally Wales GB,when the car he was in,went off the stage and hit a tree, whereby he was killed instantly.
A tragic year for motorsport.
But what strikes me amongst all this, and I don’t want to get into a heated debate over this,Richard was the youngest ever UK world rally champion, and his death has not been as publicised as that of George Best.

Very sad news, about Richard Burns, especially because he was relatively young and George Best.
however motorsport will never compete with football for national media coverage. But Richard Burns will be missed by those who knew him. It doesn’t need mass media coverage to show respect. In fact I think the media coverage of George Best has be disgusting, like vultures outside the hospital.
Very sad about Richard Burns, as for George Best i agree the media coverge is disgusting but also is carrying on drinking when you have been given a second chance.
Richard Burns was a brilliant driver and it is sad to hear the news, He won all the junior championships before being British Champion and then winning the WRC.
I heard Dave Richards talking about him earlier, he said he will be sadly missed by all the team members and friends he had made with Subaru.
Without him the world of rallying will be a poorer place, and he deserves to go and have some fun with Senna, Sheene, Hislop and the rest
