Getting married in a couple of months, plan is she comes here on spouse visa.. about £10k over 5 years for her to get ILR then British Citizenship.
And spend a few weeks a year there.
Or sell up, stop working, and take all my savings and buy a property in her name, as foreigners can’t I understand. And buy health insurance for me about a grand a year I researched.
And instead of giving the government visa and IHS fees, income tax from us both as she wants to work, enjoy my retirement in the Land of Smiles
You both look very happy, if I was in your situation I would live in Thailand.
The UK has sunken quicker than the Titanic, all the Prime Minister’s have lied to us and an MP will say anything to get voted in and tell lies, if they win they all go back on what they said.
Andy, protect yourself. I don’t want to pi55 on your lunch, but it’s a big risk to put your assets in someone else’s name. You could end up broke a long way from home.
That said, good luck and best wishes.
I would recommend paying a small fee to engage with a financial consultant or get free advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau, with many of their offices closed down, it’s mostly all online enquiries then wait a few weeks for a reply from CAB.
Can we send Carryfast to Australia, do you recommend a single air ticket or a return, Geoffrey Carryfast could be the next transport minister to advise experienced long distance drivers how to do their job, he has a degree in engine braking and A frame trailers configuration?
I’m still trying to understand SWTSMBO’s fascination with Neighbours and Home and Away! She seen every episode, knows every Aussie actor that’s ever been in either and whenever we go away she’s straight on catchup. Mind, it keeps her quiet for a while so not all bad
Yeah but not such a ‘happy life’ for the bloke if she is MORE happy, or ONLY happy because of it actually getting to the ‘SWMBO’ stage,… where the bloke is under the thumb, and having to 'ask permission to live his life the way he wants to.
I can never understand blokes who just switch off and let it get to that stage…more so those who admit it and even boast about it.
ALL women at first stages of relationships try and change blokes in varying ways,…fact.
Some are better at it, and better at hiding by stealth than others.
Some are more succesful at it and go as far as to (successfuly) mould them into the way they want them to be…change them to a different person.
(Sorry if this describes YOU reading this whoever you are btw and the penny has just dropped with realisation..)
I have seen it time and time again with past mates when we were younger, you would never see them out again with their mates after getting on with certain girls..
(Hey MY penny has just dropped btw!!
It was maybe a case of.. ‘Keep away from that Rob bloke, he’s a bad influence on you’’ )
My Mrs even changed me to an extent I admit that, but in a good way instead of a sinister one…
It’s what they do.
She calms me in situations when we are out, makes me rational and has made me more mellow and tolerant to people, she had to…(not THAT much btw.…I still make it obvious to certain people that I do not like them which she hates, but I can not help that, I can’t act.)
She did try and change me at first, but I told her I would always have my mates to go out with at times, so not to live in each others pockets and she felt the same way with hers…so it works fine for both of us,
So maybe even because of mutual give and take we still get on great after more years than I care to tell you, still spending time with each other when we can, and better still for me she STILL looks just as good as when I first met her with still many admiring looks coming her way …not so much that way in my case with me though.
I have warned and ‘instructed’ both my lads who seem to have listened to me.
Any tips wanted…
