Have a trip on thursday which will take me out that way. Need to find somewhere to rest up between Aberystwyth and Fishguard…Ideally not too far from the A487. Anyone have any ideas?

You know you can’t go through Fishguard in an artic I take it?

If your ok with lay-bys you will have plenty of options along the A487. And your will usually have a cracking view.

Or in Aberystwyth itself if you don’t get as far as you plan to -
No idea on any charges. Only time I park round here is when I get home.
Sorry just noticed about the restrictions - no idea about the limits I’ve always come in from the south to the docks.
As said plenty of lay-bys out of Aberystwyth on the road to Fishguard,car park shown above in Aberystwyth is free after 6pm and a short walk away from McDonald’s or a pub.

Ah you’ll be ok in a rigid. Length limit is 33ft if I remember rightly. If you can get to Fishguard there’s a big parking area behind the tesco express by the ferry, often a few trucks in there and a pub just up Road if you need eats. Enjoy the trip, that’s my part of the world and its some of the most beautiful scenery upon the planet

10mile south of Aberystwyth is llanrhystud on the a487 on the left is a dvsa testcentre next to a garage/costcutter plenty of free parking. 100 yds up the road pub does very good food.hth.

We used to deliver to the costcutter petrol station they have stopped people parking on there as they have had the ground tarmacced and the hgvs were tearing it up,can you park in the test centre?

I have a cunning plan - Fishguard Leisure Centre; £3.50 for a swim session. That’s my shower and daily exercise sorted. Then a stroll into the harbour for a pint. Really quite looking forward to this!
