Reporting a defect how long to rectify it?

reported a defect before xmas (leaking air ) can see where and hear it , spanner man come to do is check on lorry and told my gaffer everythings ok . today 1st day back still pi55in out of air . so they phoned spanner man he can get here till thurs (2days) so i have refused to drive it anymore till roadworthy / now my questions
how long does a company have to rectify a problem once reported?
do you think im in the rite saying i aint driving it even thou i know im rite :smiley:
i ianyt no newbie been driving for 22years hgv
company deliver own goods and have only 1 lorry

If you’re stopped with an air leak the vehicle will be given a PG9 stop notice. You don’t get any time to rectify it, it should be done before the vehicle goes on the road. If you’ve previously raised a defect for this the you are going to be hard pushed to justify driving the vehicle with the known fault.
