Okay here is a different one for your legal experts
What is the current rules/laws for those who repair their own private cars/bus/trucks on the road. In my case a private road that I own?
Twit next door seem to think I aināt allowed to repair my own van/camper to MOT standard on the private road that I own that other neighbours have right of access over.
Repairs are replacment of tyres on the rear (so it was on axel stands for a day as tyres were shot), and sorting out of the lights and tackling the rust on the panels.
internal works in terms of removing old bus bits like seats, tracking and carpets.

I think it is probably more to do with local council and planning permission, or the neighbour needs taking around the back of the shed to have a word
Wish it was that simple Wheel Nut - really do. this one chap I donāt want to be messing about as personally he is a bully and not all there in his nogging - as it was face to face stuff earier so I just simple walked away as I wonāt speak to the ā ā ā who can not get it in head that I own the small part of the road that they allowed to drive over on (aināt blocking access as I could get a tractor unit down there no problems )
As I mentioned on other forums I did say that they getting a tizzy on about the wires hanging down on the off side light (new wiring loom going in for new side lights) and how their little kid might get a electric shock from the exposed - hummm how I said as the battery has been disconnected would be nice to have the buggers touching the 24v connector even though the things is sealed up and just needed a cable tie to tidy it upā¦ geez.
Then there was the night heater housing that dropped down during the night (as Iāve loosed the nut and forgot to redo it back up again) so cue all the contents of the said box and split in half onto the floor so it was hanging half on / off. Anyhowā¦ this happened that night, I noticed it next day - orded a new norx cutting disc to cut through to remove it completey - but bugger me little kid run over to play with the bits of metal āunderā the said van/bus so they are harping on about elf and safety to the council cus of the little kid that they let out running round without any supervision. SImply canāt win - so waiting for the council to read the riot act nowā¦
Honestly its like kids in a playground which I want no part off. Am doing everything legal and getting her ready for the MOT come next Thurs - she canāt get on public road until the sidelights are doneā¦ until then well you know - Crack on I guessā¦
as i said you own the bit of land they cant do nothing aslong as your not doing anything that puts them in dangerā¦eg a huge flippin fire or something daft
the guys i get my track car built have a space for doing burnouts and a bit of drifting. its an enclosed area they own and have never had a problem from it.
I could be wrong on this one but is it not the case that having a right of way over your land for access to their property and having a right for their kids to play on your land are different things? Just wondering if technically the kid was trespassing every time he went near your vehicle as he was not on the land to gain access to his house?
Long shot I knowā¦
To answer the original question if itās your land you can do what you like with it as far as I am aware.
