Booked in when??:
I work for a Rental firm and have to clean the trucks when they come back.
Nobody gives a toss about them, inside or out.
Maybe I should start a thread and take pics of them with a name and shame of the companies that had them
yep thats cool can do that not hearsay you will have physical evidence lol
I will say though that there is one company that uses our trucks that return them in such a spotless condition that you could eat your dinner off any surface in the truck and one company that itād be easier burning the truck than clean it lol

You poor sod.
Do you have a steam cleaning cubicle for you to use for twenty mins before being allowed home in public

Donāt take a job driving a fleet truck then, chicken bones in the door pocket, bits of fingernail spat around the cab the contents of someones nose on the windscreen the complete inability to go from point A to B without damaging it.
I found one of those teeth flossing things last night, you wonāt believe how bad a 60 plate motor could stink.
As well of course Big Mac, chinky and indian take away wrappers some with the head and legs of prawns in them, apple cores bits of salad, empty lemsip packets, soothers wrappers and the inevitable attendant nose-splatter all over the dash, red bull cans not quite empty oh how the list can go on
Iāll take a pic on monday of one of our 62 plate trucks that I had literally unwrapped the day they took it and what it looked like when it came back a week later.

Maybe you should name and shame the DRIVERS that had them rather than the company ā ā
This is also one of my pet hates, really grinds my bones when I see a driver fuel up or drop a trailer with no gloves and then jump straight back in the cab, some right grufty tossers out there !!!
Only once knocked back a hire truck was bloody awfully inside.
Got keys at reception walked out opened door, closed door went back to reception said no way .Guy came out all ready to say it was fine had a look himself and agreed went nuts with prep guys.
Most times trucks are fine
All the rental trucks Iāve ever driven have been lovely inside and out. All freshly washed and valeted, fluids topped up and a full tank of diesel when Iāve collected them. Iād rather drive a rental than some of our own vehicles. Thereās obviously good and bad rental companies and we must use a good one.
Dealer i work with used to do TRANSFLEET before they sold it to Fraikenā¦The labourer who prepped the truck for hire / rent was meticulous in the presentation ,but ,if the hirer gave the motor back in ā ā ā ā state ,in future he got a clean motor though it would be an older one .Look after it and gave it back as you got it ,then you would get a new truck the next time ā¦So abuse get ā ā ā ā ,look after then you got a new one

Meat pies circa 2009, orange peel, (healthy eater?), hundreds of gloves, french ā ā ā ā (only once - so bad it was burntā¦), nasal contents on the side of the seat (Bluurgh),COFFEE - WHY DRINK COFFEE WHEN YOUāRE DRIVING FFS?- did Ā£300 of damage to a Renault cruise control and every surface is sticky for weeks afterwards, and I now have nightmares about the contents of coolboxes - I couldnāt describe the range of shades of green⦠All our trucks have wetlockers - WETLOCKERS - yet the cabs still smell as fusty as a crocās a⦠cos everything goes on the bunk. Iām getting revved up now.
I agree, some come back and you could eat your dinner off the floor, but a hell of a lot more come back looking like someone has.
This is not unlike the renault unit we received from the hire co.
Refused it and havenāt used them since as they honestly said āwhatās wrong with it mate, was ok when it left usā
Have you found old plastic bottles and containers or urine, some use the milk containers and leave it in the cab to ferment in to strong apple liqueur from Normandy in France called Calvados.?
What about old grocery bags of faeces left under the bunk?
I was following a 7.5 ton Burnt tree rental truck between Marlborough and Swindon today, I had the window down and heard the driver blowing his horn at artic drivers coming the other way and braking sharply when he should of just moved over to the nearside a bit more but in reality their mirrors were feet apart when passing, people should not be allowed to drive these things with no experience.
Can remember the first rental lorry i drove.Ford 1617,on hire from Bryan bros.Had it for a couple of days while the Tm was off the road.
Went like pooh of a shovel.
