Reid Transport Close The Gates!

Big Truck:

i would hazard a guess and say that those particular reids units and trailers won’t be in the UK and will never come into the UK with the same plates and livery again.

That has to be truckers talking out of their arse :exclamation: :exclamation: :unamused:
Surely the ferry/train operators couldn’t be that stupid that they would let units+trailers and loads onto a boat without first being booked ahead from the office and an account number being given for that particular firm which in all essence was probably cancelled because of the bankrupcy
All 30 units and 70 trailers can’t all have got to Poland have they  :exclamation: :exclamation:

nah youre missing my point, any of them that are already on the continent can just not come back to the uk, as for local subbies, well they would be silly to “lose” the trucks, as they could be subject to investigation and just make it all worse for themselves in the long run, but lets say, any polish drivers are better off to just go and sell the whole lot in bulgaria or whatever they want to do, i know for a fact theres a market for it

the one that passed me in the road works on the m1 at junction 9 thursday night was driven like it was stolen  speeding ticket was not on his mind :unamused:

whhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooooossssssssshhhhhhh!!!

im sure some of you will be aware of the irish operator who i will not name, refused to give the polish drivers the same money as the irish drivers when they realised they were being shafted, said polish drivers went out with their loads, and drivers nor trucks nor trailers havent been seen since.

MOVIN ON

If a company is owed money by another they are at liberty to hold goods or chattels with the owners permission, but if that vehicle is carrying goods belonging to another, then without their permission it will be classed as theft.

The practice is known as holding a Lien and wouldnt affect a driver owed money from their employer. That would simply be called theft.

i have just come across this site
i was a reid driver and i take great offence
with what member paul hoggard said abt reid drivers
i was not running bent as for speed i think
he is talking thru his exhaust puipe

FOUR MONTHS LATER has the saga ended

no idea but i have seen a few reids trailers out and about recently

Well supposedly there were a couple of new Volvo’s spotted sittin up at the old yard with LRT wrote on them…

a while back reid’s asked me to got to an industrial estate in leicester and check a trailer for them…they gave me the trailer no…so off i go…i found a unicorn freight trailer parked up outside a company there…it had been there for 14 months…and in the back was a load…still intact and covered in dust…needless to say after an inspection and free off the couplings on the bulkhead a 144 appeared and took it away.
this was 12 months before the rumours started, and the collapse happened 12 weeks after the rumours.
