Refresher day any good firms in South Devon

Hi chaps firstly I need a refresher as I’ve not been in a truck in three and a half years,I did it all in 2016 but never really got into it other than landfill work on walking floors,so my reversing will be garbage in any assessments.My confidence has always been fairly decent once I get back in a truck,it’s just my ability may not meet their requirements at the minute :grinning:

Im also getting told I need 6 months experience in the last year again! What a depressing job to get into,this happened in 2016 and put me in a deep rut looking for work back then…

I live in Devon now but will go anywhere for a good reasonable refresher,I dont want no classroom stuff,especially after doing the 5 days in a row on the dreadful cpc.

I just want a four hours driving and especially on reversing,it must be on real roads none of this test center reversing which is not a real life senario.

I passed both class 1 & 2 with Peter Smyth but I don’t know what their deals are these days.
On work :-
I will do a week away or tramping in the UK in days, I know local firms to Paignton are lower wages,or salaried.
If anyone of you kind people know of a decent firm after I do my refresher please help us out? I will travel 100 miles for tramping in days or on 4 on 4 off shifts.

You need to contact training providers near you. Most will be happy to do practical driving refresher training (driver training is a bit of a dead duck these days) but it will be an ad hoc situation that you will need to discuss on a one-to-one basis, this isn’t (or shouldn’t be) an off-the-shelf deal.

Expect them to insist on an assessment drive before they commit to any deal, which may very well include off-road reversing/manoeuvering time - their truck, their say.
