I’ve recently posted off my annual vocational licence application and they have referred it to the Traffic Commissioner. My medical didn’t seem to be any different from previous medicals. From memory blood pressure last year was 80/100 and this year, again from memory was 69/121? I think. I don’t have any medical issues.
I tried to contact the Traffic Commissioner but didn’t have any luck. Any ideas welcome.
A medical issue would normally be dealt with by the DVLA Medical Team. Reporting it to the Traffic Commissioner suggests they are investigating some type of naughtiness.
I’ve not even had a parking ticket. If it was driving related surely they wouldn’t wait until I renewed my vocational licence, it must be something on my application.
I renewed mine a fortnight ago. I went through it more than once with a fine tooth comb checking that I hadn’t ticked, crossed or entered the wrong thing. From memory there are certain sections that if you mistakenly filled in could potentially cause problems.
I reckon that you’ll find that is what you’ve done.
Wouldn’t necessarily be naughtiness in the truck. Have you done anything and been caught in the car?
I don’t have a car and if it were driving related they surely wouldn’t wait until renewal, so that leaves the application form.
Google “Statutory Document No. 6” and see if any of the case examples apply to you.
It won’t be missed “dotted i’s or crossed t’s” on the application form, it has to be something more than that to be referred to the TC. They will let you know what the problem is so there’s no point speculating in public as that will only result in people asking what you’ve been up to to warrant this attention, and if you haven’t done anything naughty you won’t enjoy the speculation.

Find out which t/c office it’s been sent to , dvla will tell you that , mine was eastern office , I rang them & they sorted out issue very quickly ( hours basically ) , they informed the dvla to process application as the issue had already been dealt with , I know you’ll read the scare stories on here about the t/c & there office but in my experience they been fair & very helpful
