I always plan for a maximum 13 hour day and 11 hours off, then save the 15s/9s for delays etc. I would personally be in favour of simplyfing the rules to have a maximum 14 hour day / 10 hour rest every night.

Would be much happier with being able to do 15 every day or 9 off every night.
Me too when I was young and cabhappy, the thought of a week of 15’s would have me shredding my entitlement and all other related driving cards in an instant ! I draw the line at working more than13 hours a day, much prefer 11 at work and 13 hours off
When I was working the only time I had a reduced nine was on a Friday night out and only had to run in on Saturday and finish, even that was never a certainty if there was no home match on.

Monday i done a 15 hour shift (0700 - 2200)
Tuesday card was back in at 0700 finished at 1600 (not too bad)
I was done in
Anyway i dont understand how ive only used 1 reduced daily rest? Shouldnt it be 2 in theory?
Why 2
A 15 hour shift isn’t in itself a reduced daily rest period, the fact that it only leaves 9 hours rest in the period of 24 hours from the start of the shift makes it a reduced daily rest period.
Rest should start at the end of the shift
Unless you’re having a split daily rest period it does.
If thu was 0700 to 2000 them that is a 13 shift leaving a regular 11 daily rest until 0700 fri
Ahh yes… so basically i would have to start 0700 or later on fri? So say i started 0600 fri that would make thurs the 4th reduced daily rest? Which would be illegal

As far as I remember it used to be 12 and a half spreadover, that’s a long enough working day for anybody imo.
If we were paid a realistic pay structure alongside it, as we all once were, instead of same rate right through dog ■■■■, the job would be brought into 21st century conditions at last
