In case anyone was stuck in it, this is what closed it.
oh dear don’t look good mr Rudge not be to happy lost 1 of his trucks… hope all involved walked away safely
Looks like a failed attempt at a short cut.
Dont intend to be cynical here and i hope the driver is ok but why did it need 3 Wreckers to recover that motor?

And if one the wagons is who I think it is he usually specialises in buses
What would the cost of the recovery be there then ? I dont claim to be an expert but were 3 wreckers needed ?

High enough to be glad that you are not paying for it at least.
A long time since I had anything to do with recovery but I think you would be £250.00 per truck just for answering the phone.
I hope no one was hurt in the incident.

You must be on first name terms with most of the local wreckers!
Do they give you a bulk discount…loyalty card points…
I once had 4 wreckers out for a DAF 55 Long story…!
Do tell then Loadsofhorses, weve got time

Cos that’s what it takes ro run the bosses roller
Anyone from the well known yellow/orange recovery firm know why it takes 7 vehicles to recover 1 transit with the wheels off ?
Or 3 vehicles to recover a car ■■?
The answers got to be the billing system
There are now statutory prices for enforced removal, keep a copy in your cab, from recent experience within the industry i have known a garage to try and charge over £3000 and a few shenanigans for a straight tow (18miles) that should be £450, i’m sure it’s being discussed now in a heated fashion, prior to the courts.

If it was a police callout, then the fee given to the recovery boys is £105.00
Police call out charges got ammended recently. It is £150 for a car.I think a basic hgv recovery is now £450.I will look up next in work.
i must of gone past that about an hour before that photo was taken just as the ambulances had got there. when i saw it the truck was upside down in the ditch, thought he must have fallen asleep and clouted a car then veered into the ditch.
when we had a breakdown a few months back it cost 500 quid just to get mickey gould to come out, let alone recover it.

That just about covers the fuel costs for getting one of his big American trucks out of his yard onto the A21!

By the look of the pics, i wouldnt have thought that truck had been “upside down”
Looks like it sustained a broken n/s rear light lens though

as a rule of thumb most rta accident with a hgv needing winching etc start at £3000.00 and work up from there and they say ■■■■ turpin was bad at least he wore a mask ■■?
Nice to see uninformed opinions are alive and kicking…
