Thanks for the picture and update re: B76 BRN, I have attempted to post a picture of the 112 when itwas new, hope it works
Oh, I found another
Sorry, just getting the hang of posting items at the moment, a bit of history about B76 BRN.
It was actually bought second hand, however, unregistered. It was a 1983 model, thats why it had the old brown trim rather than the blue. It was bought by Feblands through an independant truck dealer called Keith Neilson, from Harry Parkinson Haulage at Preston. I believe they bought two identical 112s in 1983, registering and running one and mothballing the other. For some reason they then decided to sell the mothballed one.
When I went to see the truck it was in the back of Parkinsons old warehouse in Walton le Dale, I believe that the warehouse used to be part of the old Atkinson works. It was covered in dust and had pallets stacked against it. It was factory white with a grey chasses and slider on it. The deal was done and it was taken to AB Coachcraft, where it was painted and the air kit fitted. It was only then registered in May 1985 and put straight to work, allocated to John ‘can’t stop’ PArkinson. As a six legger it was used for UK traction work mainly pulling Feblands tandem kangaroos
Found a few more pics from the early eighties.
EWR 205Y brand new ready for its miaden trip. Unfortunately the trailer and load let it down a little. January 1983
three of Febland’s 142s at rest. A rare occasion.
Here are some pictures from Byron Grimshaws collection he has kindly let us post from his days at Feblands in the 80s Scania 112 6x2 brand new also Scania 142 Richardson Traction subbies on Feblands
Scanias in Blackpool yard loaded
Volvo F12 brand new Byron did UK traction with this
I think Roy Winard had this F10 from new also on UK traction
Volvo F12 I am not sure which docks waiting for ferry
Anyone have any a clue of where this is taken not sure of which docks
I think Roy Winward had TCM 158V from new, not quite sure who had UFY 548V before Byron.
I remember Byron getting A635 HWM, new in January 1984. It was one of the last flat tops built, if you notice it has the 625 litre tank from the later model and it had a heavy duty suspension with 13 ton springs and double reduction hubs.
Byron was gutted later that year when he was given a new 112 and his pride and joy was given to a guy called Barry, whose surname eludes me, I think he came from Hunstanton or Cromer, somewhere in Norfolk anyway.
I don’t think Byron ever recovered from loosing his F12 intercooler!!!
Wayne, I’ve tried to zoom in to get the name of that ship, but its not clear enough to read. From its name, i’d have been able to find its history & therefor probably establish the port. No can do.
Dunkerque?
The boat looks like one of Sally Lines
Here is one taken by Trucks galore.co.uk in the late 70s on the M6

Depends what scale you want it in. In 1/24th the conversion parts are readily available for R series Highline 6x2 Scanias and boxes. I only work in 1/24th, if you want one building contact me through the site please.
Been asked by a friend to post some random photos. Here’s the first, obviously a much photographed truck!
And then there were these, which he says is kinda relevant here:

The first truck, the blue Scania 142 was owned by richardson Traction. The Volvos featured were owned by Sopa UK Ltd, which also used a trading name of Drinkwood, which was owned by a chap called Kevin Johnstone and operated out of Atkinsons yard at Penwortham on the mid eighties
Hi trucker.blackpool,
Thanks this would have been 1981/2 in Novara before the UK division was set up.
Cheers MaggieD
