Does anyone work for ak worthingtons on here? and know what they are like now they have gone in partnership with global logistics?

Just a word of warning to anybody looking for work at AK Worthington’s, AVOID at all costs the fixed salary you get when divided by the hours they make you do equals less than minimum wage, they are now called AKW Global Logistics I work on the Global Logistics side, AKW have merged with us & turned the company into the 2 bit company they are, lets face it it’s not just me that feels this way we have lost over 30 drivers in 4 months I think that speaks volumes.

I thought something was up when the advertised wages on the website went from around £7ph to a tempting looking fixed salary. Obviously couldn’t get people in on the hourly rate so just played with the figures to reel the drivers in & have seemingly managed to cut pay at the same time!
I did a few weeks at AKW @ there new Alba way site. You get ignored daily by the office staff on your return. Spoke to like crap by the first aider in the warehouse. Can take over an hour to to get unloaded and parked up. Your on trackers too, so expect the phone to ring just before you arrive back to the yard thinking your day has finally ended, only to be asked to do a “quick collection” in Trafford Park
