I have been working where i am now for about 7 years and this is the best job i have ever had but i can’t say where, sorry, anyway about 5 years ago i had a moment of madness (you need to understand i don’t do nights out and i’ve always had the urge to do ‘euro’) and decided to walk into pulleyns yard on a saturday morning with my passport, licence, crb check etc. and to my shock they offered me a job on the spot! (bearing in mind people will tell you there is a waiting list from here to the moon lol) it wasn’t all perfect though cause’ the first few weeks/months would have been cab hopping and money was less than i am on now, plus i wouldn’t have got to see my kids grow up, so i stayed putt and decided grass wasn’t greener an all that.
i did a for and against list and the only thing on the for list was, always wanted to do it (bit selfish)
and on the against was loads like miss family, less money, longer hours, have to wash up every night (nightmare) and then loads of other stuff
i am 36 now and i have to admit to myself my time has passed, i missed the boat, if i wanted to seriously do euro i should have done it when i was 22-23, plus also the euro game has changed dramatically even in the last 10 years, really and truthfully you will normally, i would expect be driving for 9 hours a day and having 9-11 off every day, well that is not what the euro game was about 20-30 years ago i’m sorry i must have my rose tinted specs on because it sounded much more fun in the old days.
plus after speaking to an old polish driver who had been in the game since god was a boy said “you live like a dog, ■■■■ up the wheel and eat out the bowl” nuff said
