Even with the seat raised to max height in my “new” 69 plate Scania, I find it too low and I’d like to bump it up 2 or 3 inches. Any suggestions re. seat pads or anything else?
No ideas except for maybe sitting on a cushion but ffs don’t overdo it or you’ll look like you’re driving a Mercedes! Them guys always appear to be sitting in the roof.

Lol, I drive an actros at max height, seat base tilted full forward. The passengers seat has no adjustment.
Max height Paddy? What are you, three foot two?

I have my seat pinned right down with no suspension.
The driving position with the seat up is ■■■■ ridiculous…
as with most things on an Actros.

Yeah… I had one about 6 years ago and the only thing I liked about it was, with the seat at max height, being able to sit high over the steering wheel (I’m 6ft). Of course if I forgot to duck or lower the seat before sticking my head out of the window I’d smack said head against the side of the cab.
I’ve got a new P cabbed Scania,I’m not short but I’ve got quite short legs lol
I have the seat on the second highest setting and quite far back.it’s perfect for me but I can imagine a very tall driver would struggle with it

Ha ha, 5ft 11 3/4, 6ft in slippers. I had no idea we look odd having it high. It’s comfy, my legs sit at the best and most comfortable position. Any lower and it feels slouchy and I don’t like that.

If you want to go to the absolute top of the…
‘‘Looking ■■■■ ridiculous while driving a Merc sat up in the air’’ scale.
Wear your hi viz vest while doing it.
You are now going to tell me you do just that.
Maxed out in the merc.

All our drivers wear their hiviz whilst driving. Unless it is soaked and I’m drying it it stays on. We can have hi Viz T-shirts if we don’t want to wear the vest. And we have to have them done up at the depot.
Personally I would go for the T shirt option.
I just think guys look a bit silly driving in hi viz vests, but that’s just me.
Mine comes right off as soon as I get in the seat.
Banana…

Hi everyone, we’ve had some new Volvo fms 4x2 , I’m a fan of the fh so thought great, first day gets my gear pops it in cab , can’t get in the seat, won’t go back anymore steering wheel adjusted can’t see the dash! Back to the daf and actros , poor design by Volvo , I’m 6 ft 6in, no problems with the fh, obviously a bigger cab.
I have the same problem with the new generation Scanias, I drove for a while a poverty spèc low cab ones and I had to sit on a cushion but still couldn’t get enough support on my legs, I’m 6.2 and had a mishap years ago when I broke a few bones in my back.
I had to ask for a Merc due to the only way I get comfortable is sitting bolt up right on max height (with out my high vis on ) now all the Merc are gone we mainly got c.f. dafs which far better suspension but I still rather have Merc seat.
