For those of us who like to listen on a Sunday afternoon or Friday night to Sounds of the Seventies or The Rock Show. The Legend that is Johnnie Walker may be doing his last show at any time. I still have my reel to reel tape of 14/8/67 " It’s 3 O’clock and Radio London is closing Down". Midnight: Johnnie Walker and Robbie Dale " Caroline fights On". Worst Birthday present ever.

I don’t listen to R2 any more apart from if I run out on a Sunday and I put his sound of the 70’s on the radio

Johnnie Walker signed off for good yesterday afternoon after 58 years on the radio sadly. He played out with Judy Collins’ Amazing Grace, but this was his theme tune on Caroline.

Did you tune in to the last show? I’m just listening to it again, that is how it’s done. I thought he was playing out with Johnny Nash but then Amazing Grace to end was 
Yes, listened live. The last two tracks especially were excellent and worth sharing.
Strange how this is one of my memories of 1960’s pirate radio but seems to have been a speciality of the Northern pirate Radio 270.
Would there have been a link with its playlists and our Caroline’s and Radio London’s ?.
