R.Swain & Sons VACANCIES

It’s only doing local deliveries

Dipper_Dave:
Hope it’s the same but I knew a few of the Swains lads when I worked for Tarmac Plant, great bunch.

For any newbie wishing to learn the trade from the horses mouth these are the guys I would work for.

From what I can make out, they have a scheme that takes nippers on and train them from 7.5t upwards. The wages seem average but they must be doing something right. I haven’t met a driver out of Strood yet that isn’t happy with his lot

They bought our firm In July last year. I left last week. I won’t slag them off as there are a lot worse i out there.if you want a driving job where you turn up get notes get in a vehicle and deliver then they are fine.
For me though I prefer a bit more of a personal environment.

Forgot i had even posted this lol! I have LGV2 ADR vacancies if anyone is interested, £29,666 per annum, 50 hours a week, running split between Greenwich and Rochester

And you have advertised this work regularly now for some years. Maybe you need to re-visit the Ts’ and Cs’ cos something aint right about the job? Trying to be helpful here but probably ■■■■■■■ in the wind…

Which firm was bought out?

They bought out Jeffrey’s Haulage from Swadlincote, I know a few of their drivers are a bit disgruntled as they looked after their kit and the Swains stuff they’re now dragging round is trashed, when wheel and hub assemblies start overtaking you on the motorway you can understand their feelings!!

The role does tend to see people come and go, it is just a case of turnover, the role is fairly specialised though

I’ve seen a few white Iveco Stralis and M.A.N units in Jeffreys livery recently, whats the score there mate?

Livery will be changing in coming months I believe. When they came in they said nothing will change. :unamused: this is just one of many things that have and will change.

What feedback do you get from departing drivers about the job?
