The two glass stores@ Derrylin Co.Fermanagh have a roof span of 32acres
I used to go into Quinn glass at Elton when I worked for Woodsides…absolutely hated the place! You could be there for hours even when it was empty

Been in there myself today with a 15’3" trailer. Dropped the suspension and it went under no problems!
A few years ago I was on a job to move the major components to Derrylin for Quinn for the cement work- loaded out of Warren Point, was Econofreight and Martrain on the job and a convoy of (I guess) @ 16 trucks- the move took over 17 hours , but for some reason the RUC were not keen to park us up and come back next day … so the complete move was done in one shift, We then sat at Derrylin for 4 days while the loads were offloaded - and frequented the local pub quite a lot and made most welcome- one of the best jobs I have ever been on- I have some photo’s somewhere - made a change from being bricked last time I was in the area

Sent assets to Russia to try hide them and won’t say where and was locked up for contempt of court but is out now. He’s been labeled as the cause of Ireland’s financial troubles by the media and government but personally I think he’s being used as a scape goat to divert attention from banks/government involvement. He only did what business men do and took a risk, unfortunately it didn’t work out this time. Alot of people of county Cavan where he’s is from and from where he employed half the county are of the same opinion and regularly hold protests etc. but things are starting to get a bit nasty now.
Few of lorries has been burned out in derrylin by protesters who wants quinn put back in business and get irish goverment control owned “nama” that took quinns over out.
Quinn outset plan and proof inside 2 years he could settle all loans and cost though blue shirts ■■■■■■■■■ in dublin wouldnt let him and done it there way.
Sadly the Mighty Quinn empire has crumbled not bad for a farmers son who started out digging pea gravel from his old lads field. His only vice in life was to play cards once a week and never had more than a tenner in his pocket … Met him a few times and was a real gentleman

No quite true, the only vice bit anyway.
Thanks to the Quinn empire everybody in the Republic of Ireland has to pay a % levy on there car insurance for the next few years to cover the losses he was making. He built up a 31% stake in Anglo Irish Bank and lost his pants when they went bang now his family are claiming they’re broke.
You can probably count on one hand the number of people that saw the 2009 fall coming. From what i’ve heard you can’t really blame Mr. Quinn but I appreciate that’s not much solace if you’ve lost out financially.
