What is the quickest and easiest way to get a truck driving job in Canada?
All depends what you want to do. It’s easy enough here in the Maritimes but the work is poor and the wages are rubbish. Not sure what it’s like to get a LMO( work permit) out west but the money is better. A lot of guys start in the Maritimes do their 2 years get Permanent Residence then move away.
The other thing is the standard of living is a little better here houses are more affordable but the cost of living is high.
You really need to come over check out the industry and see what is available. A visit to a haulage company is better than a email.
One other thing to think about the trucks are crap!!! Don’t think they are anything like European trucks.
Think a LMO takes about 6 weeks atm so it depends how soon you find a job and how long it takes for you to get the cash for retraining etc but FFS don’t just go for any old company or you may end up back in blighty. As some old journo on here has said many time before research research research.
Well it seems that tooting the crack pipe is ok in the colonies.
So choosy does not seem to appear a problem.

Toronto , the alleged centre of the universe (their phrase) is far removed from Western Canada
The quickest and easiest way into Canada is to take the first job offered to you, do no research and get on a plane - this however does not work as a large quantity of my ex-colleagues who are now back in blighty will testify

This 1000 times! Desperately taking any job thrown at you (of which there will be many) is, unless you are very lucky, a one way street to a very bad place. I’ve seen many Brits come over here without the slightest bit of research and go back home broke and dejected with the whole thing.
There are a thousand quick and easy routes in to a Canadian driving job, but there are also 100 quick and hard routes going right back to the UK when it doesn’t go according to plan (or lack of plan!)
