Just a quick question, guys, hope you can help.
Can anyone tell me,does my 9 or 11 hour daily rest period, start when I leave the yard or does it start when I get in through the front door at home??
When you finish your shift in the yard. So hand keys and paperwork in and you’re heading for the car park you are already on your rest period.
Unless you have travelled home from the vehicle when it is not at its usual operating centre, then it starts when you get home.
My apologies for the delay in answering. Six minutes is beyond our normal customer service standard and I can only blame the drink.
Cheers, coffeholic,I was hoping that it would be the other way round, but hey ho.
Dont worry bout the slow time, mate,I wasnt timing you, honest!!!

It would have suited my mate Taffy better as it took him over 3 hours to get to work and an hour to thaw him out in winter as he rode a motorbike
By asking this question are you having too short a time for sleeping in order to be properly rested?

If asking the question was depriving her of sleep I imagine Peggy would have left the question until morning when she would be properly rested
I asked this question to clear things up in my mind,as I am taking 11 hours off, but, because of driving home, and winding down,am only getting 6-7 hours sleep
I thought if anyone could answer my query, you guys could, and I was proved right
Oh and by the way,I’m a bloke not a bird, lol

Are you getting enough sleep to be safe to drive on the next shift?

This is one of the main reasons that I prefer to tramp. I actually feel more rested not having the commuting palaver.
Yep im getting between 6-8 hours sleep, rog,
And grumpy,Ive been trying to get my company to let us tramp, but they seem not to care,it wouldnt be so bad,but as Im disabled,it take me a hell of a long time to find another job,it took me 12 months to get this one,lol
