Quick question bout daily rest

Evening ! Tonight I am using a reduced rest of 10 hours. On Monday I did a shift totalling 14 hours , and had a daily rest of 12 hours , but because I did over 13 hours in Monday does it mean I used a reduced daily rest? , and therefore tomorrow night I will have to have 11 hours off? Hope this makes sense

From the details you have provided it appears that you have reduced your 11 hour rest twice. If that is correct then you have the option to reduce once more before your next weekly break.

You can reduce 3x a week so it’s not an issue. The fact you had 12 hours off after a 14hour shift doesn’t matter because the daily rest refers to how much time you have off within a 24hr period of starting work, so as soon as you work over 13hrs you have reduced.

Three times between weekly rest periods so depending when your weekly rest periods fall you could reduce 6 times in a week.

:unamused: just had to make it complicated. For the purposes of his question the answer fits, for the purposes of being pedantic yours is of course right, why make it seem so much more complicated than it really is by saying that, especially given he’s confused about the simpler of rules.

I would say Coffeeholic was being correct rather than pedantic. To be pedantic you would have to say that the weekly rest involved in 6 reduced rests in a week would have to be a reduced weekly rest, though that would be correct as well - or is it?

Forgot about this thread.

So we don’t have to give correct answers to legal questions, we can just give any answer as long as it fits the question?

Good to know, will make it easier to answer questions now.

The three times per week/3 times between weekly rests thing changed years ago but dumbass drivers still haven’t caught up with the change.

Example
Off wed thu
fri sat sun = regular daily rest
mon tue wed = reduced daily rest
Off thu
fri sat sun = reduced daily rest
mon tue = regular daily rest
Off wed thu

Fixed week in blue with 6 reduced daily rests in it

and that’s not including SPLITS that means you can do it every day your working

A split 3+9 is regarded as a regular daily rest

The Q was about reduced daily rests not 15 hour shifts - big difference

yep I totally agree with you there Rog cant argue about what the OP asked I just threw it in the mix as we both know some people still count it as a reduced rest why because they only have 9 in block and maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned it
