Questions questions

Does anyone know how id clean the upholstery of the truck…seats bed etc etc tried Google but no luck…also does anyone know where id get a replacement mirror cheaply?

Cheers

ebay 4 the mirror or a scrap yard, as 4 the seats an bed, i just hoovered mine an frebreezed them

put a clean sheet on the bed and and a set of seat covers on them, looks an feels physically cleaner !

seats and bed, you could go down to Halfords and buy some upholstery cleaner, then you would need a wet/dry vacuum cleaner to get most of the wetness back out of them.

dont wanna hijack this thread, but while we are on about cleaning, can anyone recommend anything to get my heavily brake dust deposited front wheels clean.i have tried all the normal brands of wheel cleaner to no affect?.
for interiors i tend to find hot soapy water with a good application of autoglym interior cleaner pretty good, but im sure there is others who will know a bit better.

try NEAT tfr (traffic film remover) with a hot pressure washer

Try to do it on a hot summers day (Rare I know)

First thing on the sat morning and give the seats and bed a GOOD going over with one of those hot/cold wash/dry type of Vacs that you can hire, normally that is good enough to remove all sorts of stains, inc grease… Leave to windows/doors open all weekend so the cab really airs out, then febreeze last thing sun eve, will be like new…

A lot of these upholstery cleaners from Halfords etc are pretty poor and fairly expensive, and dont get right into the fabric and beyond where the odours are…

For black suzie grease on upholstery, use this spray:

It emulsifies the grease and dries out in seconds. Years ago we had a fleet of new MANs delivered and within a couple of weeks some hapless agency driver got some grease on the light grey upholstered drivers’ seat.

This stuff is magic and sorted it in no time without damaging the fabric.

You don’t need to be paying out for upholstery cleaners, any spray on cleaner will do. I don’t mean the aerosol type but the bottle type with a trigger. Just spray it all over and wipe off with a clean dry cloth. You’ll need at least two bottles and plenty of clean dry cloth. A couple of towels should do. To do the job properly it’s best to go over it two or three times. That Frabreze stuff is rubbish. It’s mainly a deodoriser and only lasts a couple of days.

You still have to pay for it berewic. Why not pay for something that is the dog’s you-know-what’s?

I personally haven’t seen anything that removes black grease better than this.

I hope Swarfega send me a crate of the stuff now for all the free advertising. :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

If I get oil or grease on my clothes I always rub swarfega on them before washing. I agree with Dazza, it’s by far the best stuff I’ve found for removing stains

Tetrachloroethylene, Carbon Tetrachloride, Perchloroethylene and Trichloroethylene can be used to get rid of stains and grease. otherwise known as Perk, Carbon Tet and Trike used in the nettoyage à sec industry.

Be careful breathing it in and use some decent chemical gloves. Recent advice has changed, we used to stand on top of our tanks with a cigarette while loading it in Castner Kellner works :unamused: Many will remember Jenklene John

Try Tesco’s own brand foaming upholstery cleaner. Surprisingly very good. £2 a can i think. Works for me. Which mirror do you want? More to the point, why are you buying a replacement mirror?

A Women.

The stuff you mentioned does sound like the D-B and I looked for it on eBay. Couldn’t Find it but for general purposes it is a bit over the top. I’m talking general purpose stuff.
The stuff your talking is special.
