Question on Regulations

The bank holiday is here again and caravans are back in force.
A guy has a Van with a tow hook but no electric plug to his caravan.
He is towing his caravan from A to B and will use motorways and other roads.
Also a half a dozen 10 foot planks and decking is going in the caravan.
Throw in some suitcases and flooring.

So heavy load.
No lights at all on caravan.

What’s the penalty please.

Not as much as trying to sue Stobarts.

Eddie Stobart caused the mess by not having a clue about regulations.
As a leader in the transport logistics field they should have known better.
Evasion causes fatigue and is a major cause of fatal accidents

The Post was a question about a van & caravan.
Also some flooring
I was wondering what the penalty would be if stopped.
Going way back to Eddie and working time, some agree & others do not.

Get in lane for the rush hour Zipper

To be honest I wouldn’t want to drive towing a trailer that obscures the vehicles lights unless the trailer has some of its own. Firstly you’ll end up getting rear ended as the person behind won’t realise you’ve braked. Second, I’m sure the police will be quite happy to have a chat with you and prohibit you from going any further.

If you want to know about the rush hour zipper, there was a thread here about it a few months ago. Do keep up chap.

You must be traumatised! Seek legal advice.

YEP hes crackers, god knows how anybody would give you a job or time of the day :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Penalty points and a prohibition. Can’t claim that the lights were working when you set off when there’s no electrics.

If its overloaded there’s a possibility of a fine for that as well and the fine is the same as it is for HGVs so could be four figures.

They have one of them on the M1 S/B near the A14 - Crick area.

Seen it move the concrete barrier to close lanes 1 and 2 for overnight works on the bridge.

  I wasn’t interested in his wobble box question, I just wanted to see if I could get a bite.

Ait the schools gone back yet :unamused:

None because he will be seen as a ■■■■■ and they get away with anything, also vosa wouldn’t want to prohibit his vehicle as he might set up camp in their yard.
More than likely he won’t even get stopped.

As long as the towing vehicle is a white Transit tipper with a stainless steel water churn in the back and a family of six in the cab, no offence has been committed.
It also helps if the tow vehicle is signwritten “Global Treework, All work guaranteed”, or “International Scrap Metal, free collection” or something of that kind.

Basically got the push because he felt a bit tired and dossed around in the yard. Then broadcast a load of cobblers about Stobarts, which they rewarded him with a P45.
