Pure highway 400

I’m considering buying a pure highway dab radio thingy, as mercedes want over £1000 for a head unit with dab.
Anyone have any experience with them?
I’m getting fed up with trying to listen to radio 5 on medium wave, and i miss planet rock.

I’ve got a Sonichi dab receiver from Halfords. Picks up dab signal and converts it to FM then transmits to your ordinary mounted radio. Sounds complicated but isn’t. Works fine for about £60 with aerial.

I have an older model Pure in my car. Some FM transmitter based ones can let interference in. The Pure is hardwired to your antenna cable, so zero interference. Would buy again if I needed to.

You can buy a dab /cd /radio single din for under £100.

I use Pure Move 2500, plugs in to the AUX port in for the stereo using a 3.5mm jack cable. The cable is used as the aerial so sometimes reception can be patchy but it works well enough.

Thanks for the replies.
I shall give it a go.

Same as. Once you’re wired into Planet Rock or Union Jack you never listen to mainstream dross again

How often does tbe signal drop off with this?
I know from experience that it happens from time to time, so i understand the weakness of dab.
I had a dab radio in my last truck, initially, it had a foil antennas and fixed to the inside of the windscreen.
Then, when a new screen was fitted things went downhill.
Eventually, it was connected to the original antenna through an amplifier and it was 100% better.
I have to have an add on device now as the present truck has the radio built into the dash.
Cheers.

20 gigs is quite a large amount buddy. Can you not check in your settings how much data you’ve used? That would give you an idea of what you have left each month.

Good point, its probably totally more than i need these days, i suppose i could watch a bit more and see how it goes.
I assume i can listen to a lot more radio than watch tv etc.
Then again, if the cops see you even touching a phone youre in the doodoo.
Whereas, if you retune a dab gubbins without doing anything stupid you are ok.

According to Netflix a standard definition stream uses 1 GB per hour if HD 3 GB per hour. I would think that’ll be about same through other streamed TV services. So actually you could burn through 20 GB very quickly.

You’re probably right Eddie. Tbh most of this goes right over my head, what I do know though is that I get 15gb per month and I FaceTime the missus a couple of times per night and use the usual inter web data stuff for TNUK And Faceache and never come anywhere near to my allowance. Having said that I download movies etc when I’m home at the weekends via wifi so maybe that helps?

I’m on the three network unlimited data so use the iPhone on planet rock blue toothed to a Bose speaker works for me

Three network for me.
Sadly, £30 per month for 20 gb.
I say sadly, I’m not that bothered, but, unlimited sounds good!

I have the pure highway 400 and yes it’s definitely one of my must haves the signal coverage is great but it’s not ideal to keep moving it around from truck to truck
