Prostate problems

I’d love to say that’s good lancpudn but loosing blood tests is poor to be honest , though apparently I’ve meant to of been taking 2 more lots of medication for last 2 years which I’ve no knowledge of , I said to doc didn’t anyone think it was odd I wasn’t asking for repeat prescriptions !! I’m sure if my wife wasn’t nhs and chases everything up I’d end up with lost blood tests , not informed of results
There even getting confused with kidney mri scans & prostrate mri scans , had to tell them may mri is kidney , not prostrate
Best of luck , wife / daughter are coeliac, it’s a nightmare , daughter is not so bad , but have to be very careful with diet , hopefully your not diabetic as I’m struggling feet / leg wise & diabetic nurse keeps on about amputations .emphasised text

Yeah, it beggars belief in this day & age of computers that results go amiss. I went for my second shingles jab on Tuesday at the local clinic & I was asking the nurse about all this mess, she looked on my records & found the diabetic blood test result which came out as borderline, so I’m going for a urine & diabetic blood test next week along with another PSA test. I’ve been having trouble with my feet lately & hopefully it isn’t anything serious.
The amount of times I’ve rung the surgery to ask for this result & been told there’s nothing on our system for you is ridiculous. I’ll be angry if I’m heading into diabetes territory when I could have been getting treatment earlier.

Our daughter is coeliac & my sister is too, I had the coeliac blood test done in conjunction with a colonoscopy, The test results for the colonoscopy came back as normal & I actually got a letter through the post with those results.

Best of luck with your treatment too Ady.

I had a face to face appointment with Christies oncologist at Bolton hospital last month & the latest PSA blood test was 0.06, She was happy about the run of low PSA results & put my appointments out to every 12 months from every 6 months & to keep the 6 monthly PSA blood tests going.

That’s good lancpun, I did complain about 18 psa , 36 month mri , now more like 6 month psa ( had psa blood test Fri ) , hopefully drops from the 13.8 I believe it was last time .
A lot can change in 12 months / 18 months never mind 36 months , I just said I went from a small cyst to a large tumour in 48 months so a lot can happen in 18 months / 36 months , they seemed to listen then , psa is only a blood test at end of the day
As I say yours sounds positive , good new .

Dozy, I take Turmeric pills from Holland and Barrett for all round health, and garlic pills, I’m not sure if cranberry juice helps but it does help out for bladder issues and good health.

0.06…I wish. My latest was 44.3…with a letter saying they’re happy, another PSA in 6 months.
My ‘problem’ was first detected 10 years ago now with a 25.5 PSA and a ‘Watch and Wait’ treatment plan.
The highest PSA ever recorded anywhere was 23000+ (yes) in America.

The NHS site says nothing about turmeric.

It says this about “herbal medicines” generally"

Just because something is natural does not mean it is harmless or good.
Some stuff although legal can affect prescribed and other medicines that are good for you.

“More research is needed to confirm benefits”
Is a weasel phrase often used by snake-oil salesmen.

If it is an anti-oxidant will it stop rust on my car?

If you want turmeric eat more curry. Buy the stuff from a corner shop in big plastic sachets. Why pay so much more to get it as tablets in a brown glass bottle with a fancy label.

H&B are very expensive.

Supplements will not cure a medical problem, they are a huge con, the hype attracts the gullible. Some natural products such as turmeric would have to be part of a life long diet to be beneficial, starting now is a waste of dosh.
