Still got it found it the other day when I was sorting some stuff out

That is what I had with two stickers in it. I did my class three in Leeds with the company and then went for my class one while I was on holiday in Beverley

that’ s not a “proper” HGV licence
The proper one was black with gold embossed lettering , not that crappy mottled chocolate colour

It states I can drive classes 1, 1a, 2, 2a, 3, 3a, 4 and 4a.
Didn’t think autos had been around so long.

I think that mine is in a drawer somewhere, got it in 1976.

Pete.

I’d forgotten all about Class 4…

Class 4- Articulated vehicle, not fitted with automatic transmission, the tractive unit of which does not exceed two tons unladen weight.

Class 4a- Articulated vehicle, fitted with automatic transmission, the tractive unit of which does not exceed two tons unladen weight.

I can’t think what motor might have been a Class 4.
When I worked at National Carriers they had tiny Ford “D” Series but they were Class 1.
I missed the 3 wheel Scammells but didn’t they pre - date the HGV licences?
