and of course this is cheap for John as he fleeced thousands of pounds from unsuspecting trainee’s

Quote:-

"Five hundred trainee truckers lost their course fees of up to £1,000 when Autosearch (Essex) Ltd collapsed.

Tommy Williams, a sweeper on Liverpool’s Albert Dock, enrolled with Qualitas Training: “I am on low pay and needed this to better myself.”

Qualitas was run by John Dawson, 53, from Braintree, Essex, until it was wound up in 2007 but continued as a trading name for Autosearch.

Autosearch went bust last year owing £460,000 to trainee truckers.

Dawson’s ugly mug has graced this column before, when his IT training firm Amraf Training PLC collapsed in 2001. Thousands of students wasted £4,000 fees on courses that were abandoned, but not before Dawson and co-director Anthony Johnson banked £1.5million in two years. "Unquote.

So where’s this diary of events about rubberducky’s progress then?

Just for you rob, to keep you informed about whats going on just incase you never read the below thread.

I passed my class c in birmingham on the 17th feb and am now awaiting the return of my lovley new licence before i can start my Flair training in Essex.

In the mean time i have been spending quite a lot of time using the flair training website.
flairtraining.co.uk/index.html
I have this found very informative, it has some good free training tools in the free online classroom eg; digital tacho demonstration and usefull videos of Lgv tests.

I notice the prices that Flair training offer are very very good as there is quite alot included in the price for rigid and artic training, I think if i did my cat c training with them i could of saved about 500quid even with staying away from home for a week. As it turns out they are saving me a fortune for getting me through my c+e by giving me a free training course. woohooo.
The vehicles look modern and only 4 years old so will be nice to drive and im looking forward to having a go in them i’ll take some more pictures of them and put them on here when i start the course.

I spoke to John the other day he sounds like a great bloke and i cant wait to meet him, I have spoken to his office and so far its all been a very pleasant and professional experience.

Hope this brings you back up to date Rob :sunglasses:

Is it just me or has this got ‘inside job’ written all over it? In fact it’s dripping with it! Just look at it and the wording!!! There’s saying how things are progressing and then there’s going completely OTT with “OOOOOH JOHN YOU AND YOUR COMPANY ARE BESTEST PERSON EVA AND I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABIES !!!1111111111” and this is how the above reads to me.

Something isn’t right with it as my BS detector came to life when I read the above post. It’s either :

  1. LGVTrainer is rubberduckY1234
  2. LGVTrainer is related to rubberduckY1234
  3. rubberduckY1234 has been told that he must write loads of good sounding stuff about Flair Training as a condition of the offer.

Even more suspicious when one remembers how the initial selection process was rigged right from the start. :bulb:

Oh Rob

Just off for a day’s training but now I can go with a spring in my step as your post made me laugh so much.

You really should go and see somebody about the obvious obsession you have with me. Imagine if you had got the free course and we actually had to sit in the same vehicle for 4 days !

I am not even bothering to reply to the points you made you are obviously completely mad.

Ha Ha Ha Ha…must go. You have made my day

Regards

John
Flair Training

Rob you you wanted an update and i gave you one, im glad u enjoyed it

Latest news today, still waiting for my lovely new licence to arrive

one last thing i’d try and reconfigure your BS detector as its clearly not working lol

Ps. thanks for congratulating me on my C pass

John are you going to answer my question that I have asked  as well as several other people have asked the same thing or are you going to simply ignore us & hope it goes away

As this does seem to be fixed as Rob K has said

As you are now only having to give away the CE course & not the full package as you stated in your O/P does this mean you have a Cat C course on offer

The claim that you would have saved £500 has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Flair training do look cheap, but so did qualitas and sterling and look what happened to them. One of the reasons they look cheap is because you do not get a lot of training. I think you would get 4 days which includes the test.

If you look at where Qualitas, Sterling and Flair do their testing these test centres tend to have the worst pass rates in the country so does this not tell a story.

The facts are that Johns track record for running sustainable businesses is not the best

Not knocking the trainee here, but I imagine a bloke who has just passed his C less than a week ago will not have too much trouble driving a similar truck around with a trailer hung behind it for an hour. I too believe the nail was firmly hit when the selection process was explained. Rubberyduck sounds a little too convenient & flexible to be a random choice.

I am not convinced and it would be quite a generous gesture to gift the course fees (Cat C Training etc) John/Flair have saved to Help the Heroes or another equally deserving cause! I believe the accommodation costs will be much less than converting a complete novice to a fully fledged C + E driver

So what would the costs I have highlighted in blue cost?

Other recent test candidates from different areas of the UK could post how much they spent to get up to Rubberyducks standard.

WheelNut ( Malc) if you remember I did my Cat C a couple years back & was paid for due to me being on the sick so I cant really answer that 1

But I do know that in different parts of the country it does vary a bit having spoke with both Rick ( Data Academy ) & Peter Smyth who have both given me a lot of help & advice over the phone maybe some of the other providers on here can give a break down of cost

As I have said I did do my CE training but failed the test due to taking test to far away from training & not having the money due to being on the sick still

But I know form looking around in this area it would cost me approx. £500 that would be for 2 days training as well as test + VAT also SAFE 7 hrs cpc

From a recent post that you replied to!

Hi all

Went to Ritchies and CTG in Glasgow to see who I got a better feeling from, and CTG won. Got assessment Monday 14/02/11. I can ask all me questions then but so far its £36.00 for assessment, £133.00 a day training and £150.00 for the test. The tests are two times a week at their yard so no long wait for a slot.

I’ve been at DHL Boots through NAS agency for five months now. Every so often there’s an artic waiting for me and I need to tell them I’m Class 2 and ship the goods to a rigid. I think this pees them off a little and I’m afraid they might stop my shifts because of this. Once I get Class 1, DHL will (hopefully) do an assessment on me so I wont have to wait two years for any class 1 work.

Cheers,

Maybe something in the region of £800 / £1000 to HFH charity may placate a few. That would be good advertising especially as John is so close to Colchester.

Oh Malc! Don’t give that man ideas. The thought of that weasel getting involved in something decent makes me wanna puke!

Or offer a Cat C course to someone on here as there are some 1 who originally applied by PM as in his original criteria

But will not hold my breath on a reply or any of the above

Hi

In answer to the above, in large (Sorry, somehow i lost the blue in trying to add 2 quotes  )

In Leicester, for a 2 day course, and vehicle for test day, Test and VAT we charge £601.00. That covers 2 solo blocks of 4 hrs + upto 1 hr warm up pre Test.

Hope that helps. And i read it to be a new starter need only to apply for this aswell. I think, for goodwill, someone else should be offered the opportunity to take a Class C training course free. I understand that people on here are probably on the rung of the lgv ladder already, so if they have already done their Medical/HPT Test, MC Test and CPC Initial then maybe offer them extra training, like Tacho/Digi training or S.A.F.E.D. Extra training is invalueable (SP) to new trainees, some of them maybe vulnerable when they take their first jobs on, they can suffer from nerves, excitement, apprehension and the last thing they should be worrying about is have they filled in tacho’s / or operated the digi card right.

Either that, or as suggested, maybe a decent donation for HFH?
·

But if you read through the thread you will see that there was at least 1 who only has 7.5t on grandfather rights & he PM John but failed to gain the training as John thought ruberduckY1234 was a better choice

Sorry, i meant extra training with the Class C Course to compensate those who have already obtained their provisional.

Yep ok or do the Cat C & full cpc for them

Have tried for the last half hour or so to log on to the flair training web site but so far had no luck, is it me or does anyone else have the same problem ?

Latest news, i have got my licence back, it only took a week

My c+e training dates have now been confirmed and a test on the 25th march 2011.

Looking forward to it Ian aka rubberduck

Perhaps 2 things will happen

  1. You will achieve the final licence and hopefully get your career on track

  2. I am looking forward to your picture on the role of honour. I do think though that this time I will share the honour with you and be in the Pic.

Keep the faith

No, thank you Rob.

Yesterday we took 4 new bookings, 2 from board members. The publicity you give me is far more valuable than any advertising.

Again Thenk You my challanged friend.
