May be go back & read through some of the older posts as you say you not been here that long there are several providers on here TBH & some of them ( yes I have stated ) that have helped me a lot
At least this board provides the opportunity to reply so I would like to clear a few things up.
The intended spirit of this thread was to provide the opportunity for somebody to go through our training and to tell others of the experience. In total 4 people replied by PM. I clearly expected many more. A choice had to be made and the decision was made on the circumstances of the individual. The decision was not made on the basis that the person had already passed the medical and theory test.

The training is free if he fails but is it free if he passes ?
The intended message behind this sentance is that if he fails all retest training and test fees will also be free, the same as if hopefully he passes.

The candidate has not passed the Cat ‘C’ yet. I am not yet sure if he needs the CPC but I would imagine he probably does. Then of course the ‘C+E’. Is that easy to pass or instruct then?

the winner is not just thinking of starting his training as he has already paid for lessons and test and also has a retest booked
i think it is very strange/suspectious that you choose him
it must be so you can save money as if he does pass on his retest you only have to pay for his c+e saving you atleast a grand

How does your choice of person fit with this requirement?
I am sure more people would have sent you a PM to try to take advantage of your offer but didn’t as they had already had some training rather than being at ‘the very start of the mission’. Yet after clearly stating the applicants had to be just thinking of starting you have selected someone who has already had a training course and a test, failing just over a week ago and has a retest booked.
I’ve a pretty good idea why you’ve done it but it still beggars belief.
i agree with you and think it was fixed or he is sexist as i pm’d him on behalf of my wife who has never even been near a truck and decided over the weekend to go for it but he felt he had t give it to someone who has been at it for a while if had the chance to fail and re book etc as a few people have said mud sticks i also notice the guys were on first name terms so says it all really FAVOURTISEM…

This seems pretty clear in its intent, and IMHO it’s a very generous offer indeed.
However, you seem to have altered the criteria that you’d so carefully set out when you awarded the ‘prize’ to a person so clearly NOT fitting your criteria. I’ve got no problem with whoever you bestow with this offer, but from reading the above posts, there are those who carefully read your criteria and thought that they were excluded, because they aren’t “at the very start of the mission.” Obviously, those people didn’t waste your time by PMing you and therefore weren’t considered.
As I’ve mentioned, it’s a very generous offer, but there does seem to have been some movement of the goalposts.
Could you please explain the apparent unfairness to those who would have PMed you but (from your OP) thought that they were excluded?
BTW and just for the record, I still say fair play to you for having come on here and distanced yourself from the past AND for having provided some very useful posts and info for the newbies.

so how come as posted above the two candidates you initially had only one actually fitted your own criteria however you still decided to choose some who was way of your criteria that to me is favourtism and had you of read the pm properly she is taking her car test within the next few weeks im not bothered by who you chose i just hope your offer is a real one we will all soon see wont we
I can see this thread being around for a very long time, its causing a lot of controversy and also entertaining reading. I refered to the o/p as john simply because he signs his name John at the bottom of his posts, i do not know John or his company, why would i? i live in the west midlands and i have never even been to essex, As for just starting out, it was only a few weeks ago i decided to try and change my life and take up LGV driving as a career, so in essence i have really just started. This company doesnt know my driving ability and i dont know the roads around where he is based so i think we will both have to work hard on getting upto my c+e. I can assure everyone i am a real person and im chuffed to bits on getting this free training course so please dont send out to many negative vibes. If this had been offered to anyone else i would of been pleased for them and wished them good luck.
On another note the origanl post doesn’t ask for a good review, i havent been asked to write a good review, All that has been asked was in the o/p A diary of the training experience so that is what i will do. If the experience and training were no good, i would be writing it in here, if it is good it will also be writen on here. So far the experience i have had was a phone call from someone in his office and an email of confirmation of everything that is included in this free training offer which is quite a lot and if totalled up comes to a few grand. I cant beleive how lucky i am, a bit of good fortune was well overdue.
I see other trainers on here saying he has moved the goal posts and yet no one else has offered anythink like this and yet the op is still getting slated for it, give the guy a break, he is changing my life for me, fair play to him i say and im very gratefull to him for it. I wonder if any other trainers on here would be prepared to offer a similar deal to someone else on here, hhmmmm i think not!

FYI John, a person can mention that they’ve sent/received a PM, but it’s the divulging of the contents of a PM that crosses the line and breaches Rule #8.
The rule is that the contents of a PM are private and not open to discussion as you correctly said in your point #1 above.
I’m working on answering your PM, but without breaching the forum rules, I can say for now that handling this subject by PM does rather defeat the idea of open and free discussions on the forum where everybody can see what’s being said. I will reply to your PM soon though.
