Pro Qual Level 2 Goods Vehicle course, Mandatory?

Can anybody tell me if this is mandatory before actually doing your theory/practical/cpc and then becoming a HGV driver?

I am doing a Gov bootcamp and apparently we have to do this for a month before moving on, I thought you could do your Medical,>Provesional >Theory tests then practical then done.

Is this correct or not? Apologies ifs it’s a silly question, just a noob here!!

These .gov boot camps are not a standard “driving school package”, they can make anything they like “mandatory”, that’s the price you pay when someone else is footing the bill, it’s “their way, or the highway”.

Thanks for the reply.

I take that as a no then! The reason I ask is because I go away before this ‘course’ finishes and I was thinking of taking it myself privately (loan off the in laws!)

This seems to be it.

Daresay it will help to get a job with some companies, daresay some companies won`t care about it.

If completing this course is said to be “mandatory” maybe check that any funding you are getting isnt affected if you arent available to complete all the courses.
As Zac says it isn`t mandatory in order to work as a driver, but it might affect any funding.

Thank you, You are correct, you don’t need it per se BUT they kick you off the course if you don’t do it like you mention, I am doing it via zoom as I type this and asked the question.
