Preparing me for new Computer

My old Mac works fine but gets down regarding Software for Power Pc Processor.
Thinking on buying a iMac. The Mac Pro is just too expensive.
Maybe someone here has any Experiance?

Fast Processor or big Screen.
Think i take the 27" with 2,7 Ghz Cpu and external Hard drive i take with me to use on my Laptop.
Hope it works for 10 year or longer.
My mac now is from 2003 and runs fine.Replaced the Alu Heatsink with a Cooper and got them 2 Centigrate on CPU temperature down,have 4x 120 Gb + 500 Gb Hard Drive and otherwise happy with it.But its 9 year old.

Well you are right Mac is expensive than PC so you can also prepare a PC with good configuration according your need. If you want some suggestion then take microsoft help for better solution.

Immigrant, can you not just upgrade the MAC o/s. The hardware sounds fine.
Processors seem to have maxed out at 3 Ghz, but just have more cores running at that
speed. I’ve seen very few cores over that speed.

Moore’s Law seems to have been proved.

He has power pc processors in his mac, so wont be able to upgrade to OSX Lion. That needs Intel processors to work properly, apparently.
