I can remember a time when someone in that situation would have resigned as a matter of honour, now they make excuses and suggest it’s an opportunity for people to learn from their mistakes :unamused:

Thing is, there’s such a blame culture now & a litigation culture here which has been copied from the yanks. I find it abhorrent. I’d rather they just get you to sign to say if you’re stupid enough to fall off the wagon then you won’t sue them you’ll just kick yourself for being a clumsy tawt.

I must remember that “others can learn from my mistakes” line next time I get pulled. He doesn’t even say he’s stopped doing it, just that he tries not to now. A typical politician of the modern era.
