Laurence Fox has failed to correctly submit application forms for the London Mayoral Elections.
Having handed in the documents in the last few hours, mistakes were noted and he didn’t have the time to correct them.
He said “But my dog ate the right papers. It isn’t my fault”…
No not really.
He said “I have made an error and apologise to those who supported me”…
No not really.
He said “It’s pure political corruption and I will appeal”…
Yes, really.
There are no appeal channels apparently.
Crowds of thousands of supporters gathered around to call for his application to be approved…
Guess?
Curiously missing from the Tees segment of the BBC news website.
It’s a double-edged sword: on the one hand it’s good to see more grief being heaped upon The Baron, but knowing it is going to be taxpayer’s money is not so good.
I think Ben is suffering a case of Bojo-itis, he thinks the rules don’t apply to him, as was Boris’s POV
That guy needs to be watched, I reckon there are some Under tones with him.
He’s got a good heart but at the same time he can be a little thief.
I thank you😎
i remember my parents moaning about it and my fathers friend was livid because he was on a shared supply.
Wasn’t the real reason it was flogged off was the network was in a poor state of repair and would cost too much to fix? I doubt the companies that bought it actually ever fixed anything. How many times have you seen a water leak in the road and 4 weeks later its still going.
Where i live i have to pay two bills one to the company that deals with the waste water and one that deals with the supply rather than one company dealing with the whole lot.
Obviously you aren’t his cousin, `cause you ain’t perfect.
Being Easter are you concentrating on chocolate and girls, whilst sitting under the boardwalk?
The water system needed money, because it was old and the population had grown.
Thatcher said “privatise it and the new owners will invest in it”
She wrote off the debt on the sale.
£72 Billion paid out in dividends
£60 Billion in debts.
More pollution now than before.
And still we need money spent on it, so water prices may well shoot up.
That article explains how the figures are calculated, and will tell you how much of your bill goes to service debt.
Thames for example?
£14 Billion in debt
£7 Billion paid out
And currently 28% of your bills go to service that debt.
BBC:
“The number of hours in which sewage was dumped into the River Thames has more than quadrupled in the last year, figures show.
There were 6,590 hours of sewage spills in the last nine months of 2023, according to the data from Thames Water, analysed by London’s City Hall.
It is up from 1,420 hours for the same period in 2022.”
Is there no end to this stuff? (No)
Last GE we had the Cons setting up a www site pretending to be an independent fact checking site.
Now it is incumbent Mayors who are denying their party allegiances.
Honestly! Anyone would think we haven’t loved every single minute of the Cameron/May/Bojo/Lettuce Lady/Sunak era
Poor Baron Ben… Trying to distance himself from his own people, like a would-be-cool teenager desperately trying to pretend that’s not his parents in a Nissan Qube trying to give him a lift home when he’s scored at a party.
Didnt have half an hour to endure that cack (life is way too short)
Yep the Tory government is a crock of ■■■■.
But then it brings us back to the same old argument…
Will.Labour do any better?
No ‘cop out’ answers please, along the lines of the predictable…
‘Well they couldn’t do any worse’' because rest assured…THEY COULD! and in the past have done.
Blair’s crew and the derisory PM who was Gordon Brown left us virtually bankrupt ffs!!
Again no top trumps of what the Tories did/are doing,.I’ve already acknowledged they are a crock of ■■■■.
So way I see it…No hope.
If the Labour Party actually WAS a Labour Party in it’s true and original form, I would be first in the queue at the next GE, but they aint, too many champagne socialists, pseudo Tories, and those who are wanting to welcome any number of scum illegally invading our Southern coastline…my own personal pet hate…chestnut.
Neither of the 2 leading parties are for me as a working class bloke, so I will maybe go against my principles, and not even bother my arse to rock up to the polling station at all due to total disillusionment, but instead just wait for the result, adapt, strap myself in, jeep my head down, and just do the best for me and mine (story of my life in fact) under whichever ‘shower’ manage to con the electorate into voting them in…as usual.
Ok,.I know that me not voting as one, will not make a ■■■■ of a difference, but a LOT of people I talk to feel the same apathetic negative way about UK party politics,.and the voting system.
And numbers DO actually make a difference in the long run !
(Jeez 2 serious posts on politics in 2 days…I am deffo acting more like a grown up these days… )
no could about it im afraid. they will. You can bet your bottom dollar that they will reverse Brexit and take the worst deal going like may nearly did but luckily was stopped by her party and the house of lords. Blair’s puppet will do what ever he is told and we will end up like we did in the early 2000’s mass migration with billions going out of the country all propped up with the service industry that is about as stable as a elephant on a pin head
Oh Jesus H the usual Frangers anti Tory tirade whenever he gets the opportunity . whilst I sit here ‘clutching my pearls’.
Tell ya what mate, here’s a cop out for ya…
Remove your Labour Party official merchandise blinkers, and read your history books for your answers, about what state they left us in, and as a parting shot robbing pensions and hawking out our gold reserves for 2 instances off the top of my swede…
You are old enough to remember ffs, so fill yer boots in Labour reminiscing.
I aint got the time nor will, got a social day planned, without having to get into a party politics 3 page tennis game with you, especially when I have clarified my opinions on both pi55 poor main parties, so it will achieve the total result of Jack Sh.
However if you feel the need to point out the merits of voting Labour, do a bit of armchair politician canvassing, and try and point out to me/us the benefits of the Labour party…policies (btw plesae not the same old Boris bashing, or Brexit bore Frangers bull crap with added links for a change eh?
Hey…who knows you may even gain a few TN member votes, even turn me into a Labour man as I once was.
mass migration billions going out the country whole cities turned into ghost towns and no go areas. tonnes and tonnes of food that was perfectly edible thrown away. the minimum / living wage.
Dianne Abott changing her street to a no through road despite no one else wanting it and adding about 3 million to the value of her home. Blair being on several EU committees whilst serving as pm and lining himself up for cushy jobs once he was ousted. The expenses scandal.
tied us into the eu even more than we already were. tried to get rid of the pound and sign us upto the euro. Mass migration that was supposed to be on a secure bass. diesel cars, working/living wage, giving all his school chums jobs and advisory positions the afghan war and iraq need i go on
Exactly.
When are they going to realise they are about as much out of touch with the Brit working class as the Tories?
What resemblance have they to the original concept of The Labour Party originated by Keir Hardy and led to power by Ramsay McDonald?
