Ironically we had a whole county next to us wiped out by the expansion of London’s urban environment.Turned into areas where mainly only a non indigenous demographic chooses to live.Almost half of Kent and Surrey went with it.Now what remains of Surrey and much of what remains of Kent is going the same way.Like Middx before it Surrey being about to be abolished and turned into proto de facto London Boroughs.
There was never a housing shortage here. There is relatively recently a shortage of jobs and wages to pay for the numerous houses filling the estate agents windows. With prosperous provincial towns now turned into de industrialised London dormitory sectors.
As for NIMBYs they mean those of us who put our own interests aside to maintain and conserve the local Green Belt which they now want to hand over to the developers as yet more of London’s land bank for yet more London expansion.
Driving out yet more of the local demographic to be replaced by a new urban inner city one of whatever type and origin.
The resulting housing value crash as we all run for the exit will be eye watering bringing new meaning to negative equity.Which has already started with record house value losses in this part of what remains of Surrey at least.

Wonder how many of us have investments taking dividends from the utility companies either directly or indirectly via pension schemes.

Yeah I’ve just found that now…it is a Royal Tank Regiment ‘in joke’, apparentlly tanks steering gear is in the middle..
God I’m gonna get that **** mate of mine back big style…making a fool of myself on TN no less.:scream::joy:

Thought it was too good to be true.:joy:

I daresay a lot of us.

But there were plenty of other investments available before the privatisation of utilities, and will be if they are taken back into public control again.

Agreed. I was merely making the point that we all have a go sometime or other at the Utilities while at the same time could possibly be deriving an income from them and don’t even know about it.

You didn’t need to know more than those you mention to see what Covid really was. A bad cold for 99% of people who caught it. In fact millions had it without even knowing.

It took about 3 months into the first lockdown to see the difference of what was being reported in the MSM, compared to actually leaving your house and seeing the real outside world. Unless of course you were one of those who barricaded themselves indoors in a haz suit and mask and believed everything you were being fed by the MSM.

The pandemic was very strange times where everyday the government were changing the rules, going to a public place such as a cafe or restaurant and writing down our phone numbers on a bit of paper to put in a box so the management could ring customers if there was an outbreak of Covid but everyone was touching the same pen they provided.

Argumentative bus passengers who got very upset if someone closed a bus window to prevent circulation of the air to dissipate any kind of virus, I saw a young lass and lad nearly have a physical fight over a window.

The lack of personal hygiene such as not flushing the loo in a public toilet, or urinating on the seat, to not covering the mouth or nose when sneezing or coughing.

People coughing or sneezing on their hand then touching the keypad on ATM machines, the rules that were different in England, Scotland and Wales, so a pub in one country could serve food or drink then 100 metres away another pub or restaurant was in a different country and had a different rule and would be closed.

Singing in a pub was banned as the government said when people have too much to drink we have to shout to hear what the other person is saying and they stopped playing music, as when we talk loudly it expels more airborne viruses.

Ah well.,.every cloud eh? :joy:
I love live music as much as anybody but… when some absolute Wilf is belting out ‘Is this the way to Amarillo’ and out of tune while you are trying to watch the football.I want to inflict GBH on him.
I have after a few pints actually shouted at somebody to ''Shut the ■■■■ up ‘’ …which went down well with some…
but not with others.:scream::joy:

But let’s not get on about Covid, it’s been done to death over about 20 pages 5 years ago…nearly as much as 'kin Brexit.

You are right, that’s enough of Covid.

Yet another straw man.
If anyone wants to dispute what is reported in the MSM then fine.
If @robroy, you or anyone else wants to argue with 99% of the medical establishment, then I think you need some good evidence to back up your arguments.
Saying “Covid is just a bad cold” is not evidence.

The MSM is not the best source of information. Much of it was and is biased and misleading erring towards the sensational.
There are certainly arguments to be had about responses to the virus.
But saying it was not, and is not, a disease of concern are just plain wrong. I’ll repeat if anyone wants to argue against the masses of well documented research backed up by verifiable data made by well qualified experts in their field then strong evidence is needed.

To be clear: Experts do get things wrong. They are not Gods.
But when there is a lot of strong evidence, then strong evidence is needed to counter it. Some self appointed tosser (probably karen-offa-facebook’s genial Uncle sat in front of a book case) who retried from medicine decades ago, is not a reliable source.

The owners of MSM outlets which were exhorting the masses to return to work, whilst they sit isolated on nice private estates etc were also responsible for spreading crap, simultaneously spreading stories of apocalypse and saying it’s just a cold.

Ffs let it go man !!! .

You no longer have any need to convince us …we have moved on…we don’t care.

(Are you still wearing your mask out of interest?
:joy:)

More tea vicar.

Pretty much the response I’d expect from someone as brainwashed as you, who believes everything they are told by “official” source.

He 100% is one of those you see wearing them in their cars when they are the only one in the vehicle. :joy:

is this where i admit to wearing one of my covid masks and a full face shield the other day on my own in a well ventilated garage…

to be fair i was using a wire wheel derusting my pillar drill with copious amounts of plus gas
